This week may be the first week in which there are several games that are seemingly too close to call. Sure you still have games like the Chiefs/Broncos and the Jets don’t have a bye week so there’s that. But get a few lines down, and you could make a case for every remaining game to be on every remaining line.
It’s week like this that we need to be on our game! Strong results in tough weeks mean further separation for us from the rest of the pack in your yearlong pool.
So let’s get at it!
Week 7 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
14 – Buffalo over NEW YORK JETS – It takes a special scenario to have a road team on our top line and the Jets are pretty special this year. But it’s just the top line, it’s not like the top TWO lines are road teams…
13 – Kansas City over DENVER – …wait a minute. OK I know Denver beat the Pats last week but they have to deal with a Chiefs team that now doesn’t take divisional games for granted.
12 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over Jacksonville – I would like to thank the Jaguars for helping keeping my one-win prediction alive and well!
11 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over Chicago – I have been on the Bears case pretty much all season. If they can win in LA, I will officially consider them a contender.
10 – NEW ORLEANS over Carolina – Reports are coming out that Michael Thomas may not be playing in this one either. If he doesn’t, feel free to drop the Saints a few lines.
9 – PHILADELPHIA over New York Giants – Oh the NFC East. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE EAGLES WILL WIN THE NFC EAST…WITH ONLY SIX WINS.
8 – Seattle over ARIZONA – This is where games get really hard to rank. The Cardinals could pull this out but the Seahawks look pretty strong.
7 – Green Bay over HOUSTON – Rodgers and the boys will have a lot to prove after their embarrassing performance in Tampa last week.
6 – TENNESSEE over Pittsburgh – Derrick Henry vs the Steelers defense is the proverbial “irresistible force meeting the immovable object” and should provide a fantastic game!
5 – Tampa Bay over LAS VEGAS – I’ve been a Raiders fan long enough to know that winning two big games in a row just doesn’t happen.
4 – Cleveland over CINCINNATI – The battle of Ohio…is probably exciting for those in Ohio…probably.
3 – NEW ENGLAND over San Francisco – If ever there was a game involving two teams that desperately need a win.
2 – Detroit over ATLANTA – The Falcons won last week…doesn’t mean that we have to have any sort of confidence in them.
1 – Dallas over WASHINGTON – Depending on how the Giants/Eagles game goes, one of these teams could be in first place…just let that sink in.
For the first time in weeks all 32 teams will be playing this week (obviously barring any COVID related news stories in the next few days) With that comes the chance for more points so let’s cushion our lead in the season long pools!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! To take a short break from the football mentality, I do want to let you know that I am thankful to those that follow along with me and read my stuff – thank you!
OK…back to FOOTBALL!
Week 12 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – BUFFALO over Los Angeles Chargers – Unfortunately for the Chargers, the Jets are not the only AFC East team they have to play this year.
15 – GREEN BAY over Chicago – This pick will depend on whether the Bears decide on Foles or Trubiski to be under center (pause for laughter)
14 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over San Francisco – Wow the Rams are looking like a lot to handle down the stretch.
13 – Cleveland over JACKSONVILLE – Mike Glennon will start for the Jags on Sunday…ok.
12 – Miami over NEW YORK JETS – When was the last time we saw both the Browns and Dolphins listed this high on road games…as the winners?
11 – PITTSBURGH over Baltimore – COVID issues on the Ravens offense make me put this game up a few lines than it normally would be.
10 – INDIANAPOLIS over Tennessee – I think the win over a hot Packers team is what the Colts needed to solidify their place on top of the AFC South.
9 – Seattle over PHILADELPHIA – A game against the Eagles is just what a struggling team like Seattle needs.
8 – DETROIT over Houston – It’s such a 2020 thing when the Thanksgiving where spending time and communicating with your loved ones is frowned upon…
7 – DALLAS over Washington – …that we get two day games that would make you want to turn the TV off and enjoy the family time a little more!
6 – Arizona over NEW ENGLAND – I have a feeling that the birds will be excited to get back on the field after their big loss to Seattle last week.
5 – Las Vegas over ATLANTA – The Falcons will come into this game already incredibly intimidated…not just because they have to play the Raiders, but because of that Derek Carr meme going around!
4 – Kansas City over TAMPA BAY – Vegas has show that if you can score a lot of points you can beat the Chiefs – Tom and friends don’t seem like they can score that much right now.
3 – MINNESOTA over Carolina – We’ll just call it this week’s “Because they are the home team” pick.
2 – New York Giants over CINCINNATI – You feel bad for Joe Burrow and the Bengals, but they are going to have another high draft pick to potentially build something special.
1 – DENVER over New Orleans – This could mark two wins in a row, but I still think change is coming. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is DENVER WILL SELECT A QUARTERBACK IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE DRAFT.
No, fantasy football playoffs don’t necessarily have a direct impact on what we do here. BUT, not everyone makes the playoffs!
So if you have missed out this year, jump on in to the weekly fun that is a Confidence Pool!
We’ve got a full slate of games this week with some very tough matchups – should provide the same level of drama for you had you made your playoffs!
..well, ok…almost as much!
Week 14 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – SEATTLE over New York Jets – It feels weird that there was a little hesitation to put the Seahawks on the top line against the Jets at home – but that’s where Seattle is right now. But…this should still be on the top line.
15 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over New England – The second part of the Patriots two-week SoFi Stadium trip won’t go nearly as smooth as the first part.
14 – Tennessee over JACKSONVILLE – I think it’s safe to say that the Titans and Colts will be the most exciting division race down the stretch.
13 – TAMPA BAY over Minnesota – If you barely beat Jacksonville at home, you’re not going to beat Tampa on the road.
12 – CAROLINA over Denver –Remember when I talked about several exciting matchups this week? Yeah…this isn’t one of them.
11 – Kansas City over MIAMI – The Miami defense has been a pleasant surprise this year – but I don’t think they are ready to handle the Chiefs offense.
10 – New Orleans over PHILADELPHIA – New Orleans should thank the schedule makers for who they have had to play while Drew Brees sits on the bench.
9 – CLEVELAND over Baltimore – I really just don’t know how the Browns keep winning…but they do!
8 – Arizona over NEW YORK GIANTS – Kyler needs to get the Cardinals back on track if they want to win the division.
7 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over Atlanta – After a 45-0 loss, this will be a good test to see how Justin Herbert can keep the past in the past.
6 – Washington over SAN FRANCISCO – Handing the Steelers their first loss will give you the benefit of the doubt in the battle
of mediocrity.
5 – LAS VEGAS over Indianapolis – The Raiders need this game to keep their playoff hopes strong.
4 – BUFFALO over Pittsburgh – This was supposed to be the first loss of the season for the Steelers. My BOLD PREDICTION this week is THE STEELERS WILL NOT WIN A PLAYOFF GAME.
3 – Houston over CHICAGO – Is Matt Nagy still coach? There is your answer.
2 – Green Bay over DETROIT – Was going to give the Lions the upset here, but Rodgers just has too much fun at Ford Field.
1 – CINCINNATI over Dallas – Has there been anything more anticipated this season than Andy Dalton’s return to Cincinnati??? Oh…there has?...A Lot?...Ah…OK…carry on…
Last week we had a lot of solid matchups, and we ended up doing pretty well hitting on 10 of 16 games.
This week it seems like that matchups aren’t exactly playoff previews for the most part so we need to take advantage of the opportunity. This could be the week we solidify our spot on the top of the season-long pools.
Week 15 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over New York Jets – The Rams are one of the hottest teams in the league. The Jets…try.
15 – TENNESSEE over Detroit – Name one player on the Lions defense that can contain Derrick Henry…better yet, name one player on the Lions defense, period!
14 – GREEN BAY over Carolina – If you can’t win a home game against the Broncos, you don’t win a road game against the Packers.
13 – BALTIMORE over Jacksonville – There are just too many Lamar Jackson bathroom jokes going through my mind to pick just one.
12 – INDIANAPOLIS over Houston – I’ve said it before, the Colts and Titans are going to give us the best divisional race to end the year.
11 – Pittsburgh over CINCINNATI – A game against the Bengals is just what the Steelers need at this point.
10 – Buffalo over DENVER – Some have the Bills as the best team in the league right now. I can think of a couple teams I would put ahead of them but wouldn’t complain about them being #1.
9 – ARIZONA over Philadelphia – The Kyler/Hurts matchup will just be fun to watch.
8 – LAS VEGAS over Los Angeles Chargers – The Raiders playoff hopes took a big blow last week. They NEED this win!
7 – Tampa Bay over ATLANTA –Tamp has benefited by having Brady under center, but not as much as you would think. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that TAMPA BAY WILL NOT WIN ONE PLAYOFF GAME.
6 – MIAMI over New England – I don’t know about you, but after the last twenty years, it’s fun to watch the Pats lose division games!
5 – Kansas City over NEW ORLEANS – If you’re a gambler…bet the over!
4 – MINNESOTA over Chicago – After last week, for the first time in months, I have a reason to have some hesitation in thinking the Bears will lose.
3 – Seattle over WASHINGTON – Seattle just seems like the most deceiving team in the league this year. You think they dominate, but they really don’t.
2 – DALLAS over San Francisco – Remember when this matchup would be must see TV?
1 – NEW YORK GIANTS over Cleveland – Just a pure hunch here – seems like this could be a trap game for the Browns.
