NFL Confidence Pool Picks & Strategy 2019 - Week 13

Published in Fantasy Football / NFL

We have arrived at the Holiday Season.

Thanksgiving is upon us – a time to spend with family an reflect on the blessings that you have received and offer the appropriate thanks!

In this case, we are thankful for getting THREE football games on a Thursday! Yay football!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Week 13 – HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!

(HOME TEAM IN ALL CAPS)

16 – CAROLINA over Washington – Christian McCaffrey has had a stretch of good games, but a home game against the Redskins should be enough for a great game! My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that McCaffrey will have 100 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving.

15 – KANSAS CITY over Oakland – Simply put, the Raiders were exposed as a team that yet ready for a division win last week.

14 – DETROIT over Chicago – The Bears were able to hold on and beat the Giants at home last week…not a exactly a win that would help regain confidence in the Monsters of the Midway.

13 – DALLAS over Buffalo – If the Bills want to show they are for real they will need to win this national game…I just don’t see it happening.

12 – BALTIMORE over San Francisco – Here’s an out on a limb statement…the Ravens are good…really good!

11 – Philadelphia over MIAMI – Philly could use a game against the Dolphins to help them bounce back for the home stretch of the NFC East race.

10 – Green Bay over NEW YORK GIANTS – I have a strong feeling that Aaron Rodgers will really want to show that last week’s performance was a fluke.

9 – New Orleans over ATLANTA – I give up correctly predicting the Falcons!

8 – PITTSBURGH over Cleveland – Can’t say I expected to talk about the Steelers solidifying their playoff chances a month or two ago.

7 – INDIANAPOLIS over Tennessee – The Titans may be the least talked about team still fighting for a playoff spot. The Colts should be able to show there isn’t much to talk about.

6 – HOUSTON over New England – The Patriots are playing a good team on the road…so they have no chance!

5 – SEATTLE over Minnesota – The week will end on a strong note with the Seahawks taking this potential playoff preview.

4 – JACKSONVILLE over Tampa Bay – Just remember when watching this game, these are the two BEST teams in Florida!

3 – New York Jets over CINCINNATI – The Jets have been looking good lately, but it’s still hard to have a lot of confidence in them.

2 – ARIZONA over Los Angeles Rams – What happened to the Rams?

1 – DENVER over Los Angeles Chargers – Congrats Denver! You get a big divisional win, and hurt you’re draft stock in the process!

NFL Confidence Pool Picks & Strategy 2019 - Week 17

Published in Fantasy Football / NFL

Folks, this is what we have been preparing for!

We have reached the last week of the NFL season, and the last week of the Confidence Pool. If you have been following along with my picks, you should be in pretty good shape right now and just need one more solid week to clinch a win in your season-long pool. But hey, might as well throw in a weekly payout on top of that as well, right?

Normally, Week 17 is always a tricky one. With only one week to go, playoff spots and seeds are almost entirely figured out already, which means that star players end up getting a Sunday off. Obviously, this adds a degree of difficulty when making your Confidence Pool picks.

Not this year!

Heading into the final week of the season it seems like only 2 or 3 of the 12 playoff seeds have been determined. No need to worry about whether Tom Brady will be in all game – he will. Will Patrick Mahomes be under center from start to finish in KC? Absolutely!

It has been another great football season! Thank you all for following along all year!

We’ll see you in September!

WEEK 17 – HERE WE GO!!

(HOME TEAM IN ALL CAPS)

16 – NEW ENGLAND over Miami – I’m pretty sure the Patriots could play their practice squad and still win this one.

15 – KANSAS CITY over Los Angeles Chargers – This may be the last game with the Chargers as we know them – I see big changes ahead.

14 – MINNESOTA over Chicago – Take a deep breath, Bears fans…its almost over!

13 – DALLAS over Washington – The Cowboys should be able to pull out an easy win to end the year … buuuuut …

12 – Philadelphia over NEW YORK GIANTS – …the Eagles will still win their game and win the NFC East.

11 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over Arizona – After revamping The Curse of the Super Bowl loser, the Rams appear to be stuck in salary cap hell for the next few years, so this may be the last taste of victory they have for a while!

10 – New Orleans over CAROLINA – It’s a close call with the Bears, but I think the Panthers, with everything they have gone through, may be the most disappointing team this year.

9 – HOUSTON over Tennessee – The division is wrapped up, but the Texans are still playing for the 3 seed.

8 – SEATTLE over San Francisco – The 9ers were one of the last teams to lose a game this year, and now they may not even win their division.

7 – Green Bay over DETROIT – The Packers are still playing for the 1 seed in the NFC, that’s bad news for the Lions.

6 – BUFFALO over New York Jets – The Bills are set at the 5 seed in the AFC, but still should be able to pull one out against the Jets.

5 – BALTIMORE over Pittsburgh – Baltimore is in rest mode, but the allure of knocking the Steelers out of the playoffs is still something for them to play for.

4 – Oakland over DENVER – It’s a crazy scenario, but my BOLD PREDICTION to end the 2019 season is that THE RAIDERS WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR.

3 – TAMPA BAY over Atlanta – One more chance for the Falcons to make me look like an idiot this year.

2 – Indianapolis over JACKSONVILLE – It’s funny that both these teams are out of playoff contention, but the outcome still matters to the Raiders playoff hopes!

1 – CINCINNATI over Cleveland – Now that they have locked up the first pick in the draft, the Bengals can win a game without sacrificing their future.

NFL Confidence Pool Picks & Strategy 2020 - Week 7

Published in Fantasy Football / NFL

Now things are getting good!

This week may be the first week in which there are several games that are seemingly too close to call. Sure you still have games like the Chiefs/Broncos and the Jets don’t have a bye week so there’s that. But get a few lines down, and you could make a case for every remaining game to be on every remaining line.

It’s week like this that we need to be on our game! Strong results in tough weeks mean further separation for us from the rest of the pack in your yearlong pool.

So let’s get at it!

Week 7 – HERE WE GO!!!!

(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)

14 – Buffalo over NEW YORK JETS – It takes a special scenario to have a road team on our top line and the Jets are pretty special this year. But it’s just the top line, it’s not like the top TWO lines are road teams…

13 – Kansas City over DENVER – …wait a minute. OK I know Denver beat the Pats last week but they have to deal with a Chiefs team that now doesn’t take divisional games for granted.

12 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over Jacksonville – I would like to thank the Jaguars for helping keeping my one-win prediction alive and well!

11 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over Chicago – I have been on the Bears case pretty much all season. If they can win in LA, I will officially consider them a contender.

10 – NEW ORLEANS over Carolina – Reports are coming out that Michael Thomas may not be playing in this one either. If he doesn’t, feel free to drop the Saints a few lines.

9 – PHILADELPHIA over New  York Giants – Oh the NFC East. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE EAGLES WILL WIN THE NFC EAST…WITH ONLY SIX WINS.

8 – Seattle over ARIZONA – This is where games get really hard to rank. The Cardinals could pull this out but the Seahawks look pretty strong.

7 – Green Bay over HOUSTON – Rodgers and the boys will have a lot to prove after their embarrassing performance in Tampa last week.

6 – TENNESSEE over Pittsburgh – Derrick Henry vs the Steelers defense is the proverbial “irresistible force meeting the immovable object” and should provide a fantastic game!

5 – Tampa Bay over LAS VEGAS – I’ve been a Raiders fan long enough to know that winning two big games in a row just doesn’t happen.

4 – Cleveland over CINCINNATI – The battle of Ohio…is probably exciting for those in Ohio…probably.

3 – NEW ENGLAND over San Francisco – If ever there was a game involving two teams that desperately need a win.

2 – Detroit over ATLANTA – The Falcons won last week…doesn’t mean that we have to have any sort of confidence in them.

1 – Dallas over WASHINGTON – Depending on how the Giants/Eagles game goes, one of these teams could be in first place…just let that sink in.

NFL Confidence Pool Picks & Strategy 2020 - Week 8

Published in Fantasy Football / NFL

We’re creeping up on the halfway point of the season already! Why is it that 2020 is moving along at a snail’s pace yet the football season seems to be going at light speed? Time is a jerk!

Well, that just means that we can’t have a bad week! We haven’t had one yet this year so let’s keep it going!

Week 8 – HERE WE GO!!!!

(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)

14 – KANSAS CITY over New York Jets – This is the game on the top line this week…and would probably be on the top line if we ranked every game this year.

13 – GREEN BAY over Minnesota – Last time these two played I said it would be a battle for division supremacy – now in Minnesota it’s a battle for Mike Zimmer to keep his job.

12 – BUFFALO over New England – It’s just fun to see the Patriots this high on the sheet…but on the wrong side.

11 – Tennessee over CINCINNATI – It’s going to be rough for Burrow’s Boys to handle this Titans team coming off a loss for the first time this year.

10 – CAROLINA over Atlanta – To sum up the Falcons this year, even a late Todd Gurley touchdown cost them the game last week!

9 – Tampa Bay over NEW YORK GIANTS – For some reason, the Giants are hosting a second Monday Night game – and this should go about as “good” as the last one where they also hosted a Super Bowl contender.

8 – SEATTLE over San Francisco – If ever there was a division where winning games against the division meant something! My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE ENTIRE NFC WEST WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.

7 – Los Angeles Rams over MIAMI – I have a feeling that Tua will try to do too much against a tough defense in his debut.

6 – Los Angeles Chargers over DENVER – This should be another week for Justin Herbert to solidify his spot as the top rookie of this class.

5 – PHILADELPHIA over Dallas – Not to get political or anything, but with the state that this country is in right now, I think it still makes sense to call the Cowboys “America’s Team”.

4 – New Orleans over CHICAGO – The Bears are in a stretch of their schedule that will probably knock them out of the playoff picture.

3 – Las Vegas over CLEVELAND – Defenses be damned, it will be a high scoring affair.

2 – BALTIMORE over Pittsburgh – Whichever team you want to back in this one, keep it low. This Game of the Week is a coin toss.

1 – DETROIT over Indianapolis – We’ll just call this the home team hunch of the week.
