I’ve been following sports and wrestling since I can remember. Not too much, aside from my family, gives me as much joy as watching my Raiders, Blackhawks, Bulls, White Sox or WWE. Add in some honey Jack to sip on and that’s the equation for a perfect evening!
We have reached the last quarter of the season. Time to make that stretch run at the top spot of your pool!
Week 13 proved to be a solid one for us. So let’s keep that momentum going!
Week 14 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – HOUSTON over San Francisco – The non DeShaun Watson-led Texans are at the top of the board this week…that pretty much sums up how close these games are going to be.
15 – BUFFALO over Indianapolis – The Bills are second from the top of the board…that pretty much sums up how close these games are going to be…and a little about how bad the Colts are this year.
14 – CINCINNATI over Chicago – Cincy blew a 17 point lead last week…and my chances of my pool’s top spot for the week. I was going to punish them by not picking them but, well, they’re hosting the Bears…so…
13 – PITTSBURGH over Baltimore – Pittsburgh is peaking at the right time. That and the fact that the Ravens’ top CB is now out for the year will give the Steelers another big win.
12 – New England over MIAMI – Tom Brady didn’t have a good week last week. All apologies to the Dolphins this week.
11 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over Washington – Phillip Rivers is actually making it seem like the Chargers should be relevant in the month of December. Good thing too since the Chiefs decided to not win football games anymore.
10 – TAMPA BAY over Detroit – This former NFC Central matchup is proving to be as irrelevant as their meetings in the mid-90s. Tampa gets the “home team” nod in this one.
9 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over Philadelphia – Taking a close look at the Eagles’ season, they don’t fare well against solid teams. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE EAGLES WILL NOT WIN A PLAYOFF GAME THIS YEAR.
8 – ATLANTA over New Orleans – The Falcon’s playoff hopes are starting to sip away a bit. This Thursday Night matchup will show that they realize that.
7 – JACKSONVILLE over Seattle – In this week’s “could you imagine seeing this in the pre-season” pick, the Jags should be able to contain Russel Wilson enough to take a step towards the AFC South top spot.
6 – ARIZONA over Tennessee – …a top spot that is owned by the Titans right now…somehow. Not for long though.
5 – New York Jets over DENVER – This Jets defense is just fun to watch. So much so that they may even be able to pick up this road win.
4 – CAROLINA over Minnesota – I said last week that the Vikings wouldn’t be able to win a big road game. Well…they won’t be able to do it twice in a row…
3 – Green Bay over CLEVELAND – Mr. Hundley, you’ve done…well, enough. Now get this quick road win in Cleveland and give Mr. Rodgers the keys back. Me and all of the other Jordy Nelson fantasy owners will thank you!
2 – NEW YORK GIANTS over Dallas – All seem right(er) in the world of the Giants this week. Possibly even enough for them to win a football game!
1 – Oakland over KANSAS CITY – Why is there ANY reason to have faith in the Chiefs?
We are winding down the 2017 season. More so that that at this point, we are getting very close to the end of the Fantasy Football season.
Unfortunately what that means is that some may be putting all of their focus on their fantasy roster rather than their confidence picks – don’t do that! In fact, it is more of a reason to put more focus on your confidence picks – let everyone else in your pool be distracted!
Week 13 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over Cleveland – The Chargers have been one of the hottest teams in the league recently. The Browns…the Browns have not been.
15 – JACKSONVILLE over Indianapolis – Jacoby Brissett doesn’t exactly have the firepower needed to counter the top defense in the league…on the road.
14 – New England over BUFFALO – The Bills have been able to top the Pats at home more frequently than others in recent years, but they haven’t been in this much internal turmoil before.
13 – OAKLAND over New York Giants – I was a little concerned with Michael Crabtree and more than likely Amari Cooper being out for this game…then the Giants named Geno Smith their starter…sooooooo……
12 – TENNESSEE over Houston – The second AFC South matchup on the list will further prove that there was a decent gap this season between the top two and bottom two teams.
11 – BALTIMORE over Detroit – It has been an up and down year for the Lions – this matchup will probably continue their slide.
10 – NEW ORLEANS over Carolina – The win streak came to an end last week – which could prove to be beneficial for the Saints.
9 – Los Angeles Rams over ARIZONA – It might have been closer with Carson Palmer under center but the Cardinals just won’t be able to keep up with Rams.
8 – ATLANTA over Minnesota – The Vikings have quietly climbed towards the top of the NFC standings, but I still have doubts about them winning big games on the road.
7 – NEW YORK JETS over Kansas City – Has any team been on more of a slide than the Chiefs? My BOLD PREDICTION for the week is after starting off the season as one of the best teams in the league THE CHIEFS WILL NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.
6 – Washington over DALLAS – Everyone is talking about the Packers dependence on Aaron Rodgers – how about the Cowboys’ apparent dependence on Ezekial Elliot?
5 – MIAMI over Denver – This game is just going to be brutal.
4 – SEATTLE over Philadelphia – It will take a lot to take down the Eagles this year. A primetime game in Seattle might just do it.
3 – GREEN BAY over Tampa Bay – A strong showing in Pittsburgh last week is enough to restore some confidence in the Green and Gold … … … but not much.
2 – CHICAGO over San Francisco – Well congrats Bears, you’ll probably win another meaningless game that will drop you down further in the draft order. Prioritize!
1 – CINCINNATI over Pittsburgh – Hunch...pure hunch…hunches shouldn’t be higher than a 1.
It’s Thanksgiving Week!
What that means is that there are NO more bye weeks and we get extra football earlier in the week. You know, just as players are really starting to hit home on their protest against Thursday Football. Ah well, sooner football - YAY!
Week 12 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – PHILADELPHIA over Chicago – The Bears have been able to hold their own the last few weeks. Hard to see that happening this week though.
15 – NEW ENGLAND over Miami – The fact that the Patriots’ defense is really starting to come around is just a scary thought for the rest of the league.
14 – PITTSBURGH over Green Bay – I’m pretty sure that NBC thought they would be getting a better matchup when they scheduled this in the off-season.
13 – CINCINNATI over Cleveland – Congrats, state of Ohio…these are your football teams.
12 – WASHINGTON over New York Giants – On Thursday, we’ll all have our big turkey dinner which will make us pretty sleepy – we should get a great night’s rest! If that isn’t enough, don’t worry, the Giants will be on in primetime.
11 – KANSAS CITY over Buffalo – A month ago people were calling Alex Smith the MVP – now they’re calling for Patrick Mahomes to take the helm in KC? I’m not buying it.
10 – Seattle over SAN FRANCISCO – Remember when this was the hottest rivalry in the league?
9 – BALTIMORE over Houston – After a shutout win in Green Bay, the Ravens continue their “lucky to be playing teams who have lost their quarterback” stretch of the schedule.
8 – Tennessee over INDIANAPOLIS – Until Andrew Luck gets back, its hard to see the Colts winning many games.
7 – ATLANTA over Tampa Bay – Ryan Fitzpatrick has been more than serviceable since replacing Jameis Winston – but the Falcons are starting to look like last year’s team…blowing leads and everything.
6 – Minnesota over DETROIT – Thanksgiving kicks off with a matchup that could go a long way in determining the NFC North – especially when the Vikings pick up the huge road win.
5 – OAKLAND over Denver – It seems like Denver hasn’t won a game since Elway was under center and they will be starting a new quarterback…again. It’s still not naïve of me to pick the Raiders, right?
4 – DALLAS over Los Angeles Chargers – Unfortunately for the Chargers, you can’t play a team that makes horrible quarterback decisions every week.
3 – New Orleans over LOS ANGELES RAMS – This could be an NFC Championship Game preview … … … I really don’t know how to follow that up.
2 – Jacksonville over ARIZONA – The Jags are clearly the better team, but playing in Arizona has me a little skeptical.
1 – NEW YORK JETS over Carolina – My gut says the Panthers will win this one, but both Carolina and the Jets have done a great job of doing what I thought they wouldn’t this season.
We have come to the last week of the season with bye weeks, and we will be earning every point we get.
This week has some pretty close matchups with almost no clear-cut winners across the board. It’s what makes the confidence pool interesting, right?
Week 11 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
14 – PITTSBURGH over Tennessee – The week starts off with an AFC matchup with playoff implications. The fact that this description is being used on a game at the top of our board should show you how close this week will be.
13 – NEW ORLEANS over Washington – Weird to think that getting rid of Adrian Peterson would be so beneficial for a team.
12 – SEATTLE over Atlanta – The week ends with an NFC matchup with playoff implications. Please review the #14 line for this description.
11 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over Buffalo – I’m sure you’re skeptical of seeing the Chargers this high, but a quarterback change right before a cross-country trip may not be the best thing for the Bills.
10 – DENVER over Cincinnati – The Broncos offense is awful … just awful. Their defense should be enough to get them through this one.
9 – Detroit over CHICAGO – Everything about this game will look just like last week for the Bears, just change the NFC North rival.
8 – Kansas City over NEW YORK GIANTS – The Chiefs had their bye week to get extra time to prepare for…the Giants. This should be as easy way to get past the Andy Reid post-bye week curse.
7 – MINNESOTA over Los Angeles Rams – This potential Game of the Week matchup could very well be an NFC playoff matchup as well.
6 – HOUSTON over Arizona – This game would have been a LOT more exciting a few week and two starting quarterback injuries ago. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE TOTAL SCORE OF THIS GAME WILL BE EQUAL TO OR LESS THAN 10.
5 – Baltimore over GREEN BAY – The Packers were able to give Brett Hundley his first career last week. Can’t play the Bears every week though.
4 – Jacksonville over CLEVELAND – Ah I bet the Browns and their fans saw this game on their schedule in the pre-season and thought “Hey! There’s one we can win!” Weellllllll……
3 – OAKLAND over New England – Homer pick…pure homer pick.
2 – DALLAS over Philadelphia – With the week of controversy he has had, Mr. Jones is going to make sure that his ‘Boys come out ready to play and take down the best team in the league that he is seemingly trying to take over.
1 – MIAMI over Tampa Bay – The Jacksonville Jaguars are by far the best team in the state of Florida…just something to think about while watching this one.
