NFL Confidence Pool Picks & Strategy 2020 - Week 1

So … … … has anything news-worthy happened since last we spoke?

The 2020 season is finally upon us and, well, needless to say, it’s going to be a different one. But in this year of drastic and extreme change, we have all been clamoring for some sense of normalcy. Something that we can latch on to and just forget about the problems of the world. When that ball is kicked off on Thursday Night, this country will experience a normalcy it hasn’t felt since March. We’ve been waiting long enough, so let’s get to it!

Week 1 – HERE WE GO!!!!

(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)

16 – BALTIMORE over Cleveland – The Ravens ended up being the team that the Browns were supposed to have potential to be last season. Hard to see things changing.

15 – KANSAS CITY over Houston – The champs get their rings and has as another gift, get to host Bill O’Brien’s disgruntled team.

14 – SAN FRANCISCO over Arizona – If the Super Bowl Loser Curse continues this year, it won’t start this week.

13 – NEW ORLEANS over Tampa Bay – The world seems to have already crowned the Bucs as Super Bowl Champions…I haven’t!

12 – Indianapolis over JACKSONVILLE – The Jags are going to be the car crash that you just can’t help but keep your eyes on this year. My first BOLD PREDICTION of the new year is that THE JAGUARS WILL WIN ONE GAME THIS YEAR…TOPS! And that might even be stretching it!

11 – BUFFALO over New  York Jets – If a table isn’t set up outside the Buffalo stadium for a tailgate, does it still get jumped through?

10 – DETROIT over Chicago – Bears fans…oh it’s going to be a rough one.

9 – Philadelphia over WASHINGTON – Switching their name to just Washington Football Team will still be offensive when you see them actually play.

8 – Tennessee over DENVER – This may have been a closer game, but in the last few days the Titans have added Jadeveon Clowney and the Broncos lost Von Miller.

7 – NEW ENGLAND over Miami – These are no longer the Patriots we have known the last two decades…but this result will still look pretty familiar.

6 – MINNESOTA over Green Bay – The Vikings strike the first blow in what should be a season long neck and neck battle for the NFC North.

5 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over Dallas – Is it me or does it seem like both of these teams have the potential to finish either 11-5 or 5-11?

4 – ATLANTA over Seattle – Look for Todd Gurley to have a solid “remember me” game to bail the Falcons out.

3 – Las Vegas  over CAROLINA – Yes, I started to type Oakland. It will be weird to refer to them as the Las Vegas Raiders – even weirder will be seeing them win on the road in week 1!

2 – CINCINNATI over Los Angeles Chargers – The Joe Burrow era got a gift in its first game being against another transitioning team.

1 – NEW YORK GIANTS over Pittsburgh – Simply a Monday Night home team hunch on this one.

NFL Confidence Pool Picks & Strategy 2019 - Week 17

Folks, this is what we have been preparing for!

We have reached the last week of the NFL season, and the last week of the Confidence Pool. If you have been following along with my picks, you should be in pretty good shape right now and just need one more solid week to clinch a win in your season-long pool. But hey, might as well throw in a weekly payout on top of that as well, right?

Normally, Week 17 is always a tricky one. With only one week to go, playoff spots and seeds are almost entirely figured out already, which means that star players end up getting a Sunday off. Obviously, this adds a degree of difficulty when making your Confidence Pool picks.

Not this year!

Heading into the final week of the season it seems like only 2 or 3 of the 12 playoff seeds have been determined. No need to worry about whether Tom Brady will be in all game – he will. Will Patrick Mahomes be under center from start to finish in KC? Absolutely!

It has been another great football season! Thank you all for following along all year!

We’ll see you in September!

WEEK 17 – HERE WE GO!!

(HOME TEAM IN ALL CAPS)

16 – NEW ENGLAND over Miami – I’m pretty sure the Patriots could play their practice squad and still win this one.

15 – KANSAS CITY over Los Angeles Chargers – This may be the last game with the Chargers as we know them – I see big changes ahead.

14 – MINNESOTA over Chicago – Take a deep breath, Bears fans…its almost over!

13 – DALLAS over Washington – The Cowboys should be able to pull out an easy win to end the year … buuuuut …

12 – Philadelphia over NEW YORK GIANTS – …the Eagles will still win their game and win the NFC East.

11 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over Arizona – After revamping The Curse of the Super Bowl loser, the Rams appear to be stuck in salary cap hell for the next few years, so this may be the last taste of victory they have for a while!

10 – New Orleans over CAROLINA – It’s a close call with the Bears, but I think the Panthers, with everything they have gone through, may be the most disappointing team this year.

9 – HOUSTON over Tennessee – The division is wrapped up, but the Texans are still playing for the 3 seed.

8 – SEATTLE over San Francisco – The 9ers were one of the last teams to lose a game this year, and now they may not even win their division.

7 – Green Bay over DETROIT – The Packers are still playing for the 1 seed in the NFC, that’s bad news for the Lions.

6 – BUFFALO over New York Jets – The Bills are set at the 5 seed in the AFC, but still should be able to pull one out against the Jets.

5 – BALTIMORE over Pittsburgh – Baltimore is in rest mode, but the allure of knocking the Steelers out of the playoffs is still something for them to play for.

4 – Oakland over DENVER – It’s a crazy scenario, but my BOLD PREDICTION to end the 2019 season is that THE RAIDERS WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR.

3 – TAMPA BAY over Atlanta – One more chance for the Falcons to make me look like an idiot this year.

2 – Indianapolis over JACKSONVILLE – It’s funny that both these teams are out of playoff contention, but the outcome still matters to the Raiders playoff hopes!

1 – CINCINNATI over Cleveland – Now that they have locked up the first pick in the draft, the Bengals can win a game without sacrificing their future.

NFL Confidence Pool Picks & Strategy 2019 - Week 16

We are getting to the nitty gritty right now! Only two weeks remain in the regular season.

If you have been using our picks this year, then you are sitting pretty good in your year-long pool and are poised to take that top spot!

If you haven’t been using our picks, well then you deserve the low spot in the standings that you have right now! But hey, jump on the bandwagon now and maybe win a week or two!

…and never doubt me again! :)

WEEK 16 – HERE WE GO!!

(HOME TEAM IN ALL CAPS)

  • 16 – SEATTLE over Arizona – The Seahawks get an easy tune up before their huge matchup with the 49ers next week.

  • 15 – INDIANAPOLIS over Carolina – I think it’s safe to say that the Panthers were one of the most disappointing team in the league this season.

  • 14 – SAN FRANCISCO over Los Angeles Rams – The ending of the Falcons/9ers game was just crazy – and made San Francisco realize that they can no longer leave anything to chance.

  • 13 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over Oakland – After their dismal display in their last two games in Oakland, let’s just call them the ______________ Raiders until they officially move to Vegas. My BOLD PREDICTION this week is that THE LAS VEGAS RAIDERS WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS NEXT YEAR.

  • 12 – PHILADELPHIA over Dallas – (sigh) … this game will actually decide a division winner…(sigh)…

  • 11 – NEW ENGLAND over Buffalo – I still don’t see the Bills as a legitimate threat to the Patriots AFC East dominance.

  • 10 – TAMPA BAY over Houston – Tampa has nothing to play for but are playing like a team with nothing to lose.

  • 9 – Kansas City over CHICAGO – I know I said the Panthers were the most disappointing team this season…but then the Bears came to mind…

  • 8 – New Orleans over TENNESSEE – Between this game and the game last week against the Texans, the Titans are getting a bad dose of reality

  • 7 – Baltimore over CLEVELAND – It’s really hard to see the Ravens lose another game this year.

  • 6 – MIAMI over Cincinnati – You know that feeling when you are watching a Pee-Wee Football game? It’s just so cute to watch them run around and try to play football. Yeah…that…

  • 5 – DENVER over Detroit – I will say this, Drew Lock is starting the process of eventually coming close to the possibility of maybe changing my opinion on his legitimacy as a starting QB in the NFL.

  • 4 – MINNESOTA over Green Bay – The Vikings are set to complete their “Don’t forget about us” run to the NFC North title! (side note, I almost just typed NFC Central – yay for nostalgia!)

  • 3 – ATLANTA over Jacksonville – How did the Falcons pull off the upset in San Fran last week?? BECAUSE I PICKED THEM TO LOSE!!!!!

  • 2 – WASHINGTON over New York Giants – Haskins vs Jones – the NFC East quarterback matchup of the future! With probably the same levels of stakes as there are this week!

  • 1 – NEW YORK JETS over Pittsburgh – I still don’t think the Jets are as bad as their record says they are.

NFL Confidence Pool Picks & Strategy 2019 - Week 15

It’s hard to believe that we are just a few weeks away from the end of the season. Only a few more chances to lock down that top spot in your season long pool.

But, if you have been using our picks all year, you should be at the top as it is. And if you haven’t, well, you’ll learn for next season I guess!

Week 15 – HERE WE GO!!!!

(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)

  • 16 – BALTIMORE over New York Jets – The Jets have been looking solid lately…that will all come to a screeching halt this week.

  • 15 – GREEN BAY over Chicago – Re-read what I just wrote but replace Jets with Bears.

  • 14 – New England over CINCINNATI – Video taping…the Bengals? The Patriots are seriously just cheating for the fun of it at this point!

  • 13 – SAN FRANCISCO over Atlanta –The 9ers confirmed their NFC dominance in New Orleans last week – a home game against the Falcons will be a nice breather for them.

  • 12 – Seattle over CAROLINA – At the beginning of the year this could have been a potential NFC Championship preview. Now…not so much.

  • 11 – KANSAS CITY over Denver – It’s odd to have a little doubt in my mind that I have the Chiefs too high against the Drew Lock-led Broncos.

  • 10 – TENNESSEE over Houston – This will be part one of the Titans assertion as this year’s AFC South Champions…

  • 9 – NEW ORLEANS over Indianapolis – …and this is part two! My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE TITANS WILL WIN THE AFC SOUTH.

  • 8 – Minnesota over LOS ANGELES CHARGERS – I would be more reluctant to put the Vikings so high in this road game…but with such a bad fan base, is there really such thing as a road game against the Chargers?

  • 7 – OAKLAND over Jacksonville – It’s been a rough stretch for the Raiders which has taken them out of the playoff picture. This week, though, they’ll be pushed by the emotions of playing the last game in Oakland …well…until they move back in 15-20 years.

  • 6 – PITTSBURGH over Buffalo – There are just so many reasons why this being a potential Game of the Week is a huge surprise – lucky for the Steelers the game is in Pittsburgh.

  • 5 – DALLAS over Los Angeles Rams – I honestly don’t know what to say about the battle of disappointment.

  • 4 – ARIZONA over Cleveland – Speaking of disappointment, a season full of disappointment will soon end for the Browns.

  • 3 – Tampa Bay over DETROIT – Tampa is playing like a team that knows their season is over, but they have pride. The Lions are not.

  • 2 – NEW YORK GIANTS over Miami – Eli almost pulled out a win in his return to the field last week. He’ll more than be able to handle it this week.

  • 1 – WASHINGTON over Philadelphia – As we know, if we think the Redskins will win, we keep it on the one-point line.
