Chicagoland native recently relocated to San Diego, California. Been out here since February 2015 and have come to the conclusion that the west coast time zone is amazing for sports fans! No game is too late. I envision the perfect football season ahead: waking up by 10am, start sippin on bloodies on the couch, planted drinking IPA's by the Sunday night game and passed out by 9:30 with plenty of rest for Monday!
Well, this has been my most embarrassing survivor pool performance by a long shot. Two picks, both heavy favorites, both losing on missed field goals as the clock ran out. The main pool I entered had 1924 entries and saw 1180 of those eliminated in the very first week. My picks, the Titans and the Broncos, were polarizing examples of how coaching can decide a game. The Giants first-year coach, Brian Daboll, showed that he understands the game of football and decided on a 2pt try rather than a tie late in the fourth quarter to secure his first coaching win.
Then there were the Broncos. Such superior talent on the team allowed them to remain in the contest in spite of numerous mental mistakes and poor coaching decisions. That is, until the final drive, as their 250 million dollar quarterback is driving them down the field to complete a 4th quarter comeback and Nathaniel Hackett decides to let the clock run down from a minute plus to 20 seconds on a 4th and 5 to attempt a 64 yard field goal. I have never in my life seen a worse coaching decision. It might be the only instance in the history of the universe to have a unanimous disagreement with the call. I'm serious. If we can somehow harness the solidarity of the opposition to that decision we could have world peace, it was truly amazing! It crushes me as a Broncos fan to come to the realization that they will be wasting several years of Wilson's career with this bozo at the helm. Normally, one bad decision can be written off, but something that bad shows he is not ready for the responsibility of being a head coach and will be learning on the job.
Anyways, take the Packers this week. Aaron Rodgers owns the Bears and is 6-0 coming off a loss with Matt LaFleur as coach. I think you should fade the other big favorite 49ers vs the Seahawks. Trey Lance has yet to prove he can play and in no way deserves 9.5 points.

Welcome back to another season of NFL survivor pool extravaganza! Week one always seems to be one of the toughest to make picks, soo many question marks, and teams no longer show anything in the pre-season to help you get a feel for what is to come. I was already shocked on Thursday night when the Bills Schalacked the Rams at their ring ceremony. Not surprised they won, but the margin was insane, and holding LA to 10 points with 7 sacks, Wow!
However, there is one thing I am certain of in this first week of the season. Russel Wilson and the Denver Broncos will not lose on Monday night to his former team up in Seattle. It's pretty simple. Russ will be highly motivated and the Seahawks are one of the teams pegged to be drafting at the top of the draft next year. Denver's defense will shut down the Hawks and won't need to put up much on offense.
My second pick would be either the Baltimore Ravens over the Jets or the Titans at home vs the Giants. After some back and forth I went with the Titans simply because it was a home game and I wanted to use them up early on and save the Ravens for later.

A source close with the Browns organization has disclosed preliminary details on a trade involving Quarterback Baker Mayfield. The trade will have the Browns sending fourth year QB Mayfield to…
Apologies for the Roll, but God damn that's how I've felt since the Deshaun Watson trade and all these clickbait articles clogging my Google feed on a daily basis. The truth is all we can do is wait and see. My guess is nothing will happen until he is released since the Browns have no leverage.

The last two weeks have gone just how I like it. My picks have won in blowout fashion and given me supreme confidence in my picking abilities. After the first quarter Houston was ahead 2-0 and I had to double take that I wasn't seeing the MLB playoff scores, but then Arizona scored 17 in the 2nd and never looked back.
This week's pick should be another slam dunk. I was considering a few different teams I like this week but when I heard the Jets were trading for Joe Flacco, I knew my choice was made. The Cincinnati Bengals will wipe the floor with Jets starting QB Mike White. Maybe there could be a slight let down after the beating Cincinnati put on the Ravens last week, but the talent gap is too large to lose to a guy getting his first start. Burrow and Chase have been probably the most exciting WR/QB duo going this season. I expect an easy Bengals win and cover of the 10.5 point spread and seeing that I am writing this from fabulous Las Vegas, I will be putting my money where my mouth is.
