Christmas is indeed the time of giving.
And this year, the NFL is giving us a full slate of games on Christmas Eve along with a full day of football on Christmas. Let’s face it, we’ll all need some sort of a distraction from our families, now we have it! (just kidding, family members who might be reading this!)
Happy Holidays everyone!!
Week 16 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – PHILADELPHIA over New York Giants – Safe to say the Tommy DeVito allure is gone now, right?
15 – KANSAS CITY over Las Vegas – I really wanted to pick the Raiders here…Christmas miracles happen, right?
14 – Buffalo over LOS ANGELES CHARGERS – I think the Raiders just scored against the Chargers again.
13 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over New Orleans – If the Rams sneak into the playoffs, they could be a team worth keeping an eye on.
12 – NEW YORK JETS over Washington – OK, let’s consider this a Christmas gift to the Jets for putting them this high.
11 – CHICAGO over Arizona – The presents this week just keep rolling, one for the Bears here.
10 – DENVER over New England – Remember when this matchup would have been exciting? (Seems like that’s the trend with Patriots games this year)
9 – SAN FRANCISCO over Baltimore – No better way to end Christmas Day than with this matchup. My BOLD PREDCITION for this week is that THIS WILL BE THE SUPER BOWL MATCHUP THIS YEAR.
8 – MIAMI over Dallas – Road Cowboys are different than home Cowboys.
7 – Detroit over MINNESOTA – The Lions know they need to close the division soon and will come out pretty motivated.
6 – Cincinnati over PITTSBURGH – It’s Mason Rudolph … so … yeah …
5 – Cleveland over HOUSTON – IF CJ Stroud plays, flip this to a Texans win.
4 – Seattle over TENNESSEE – I like Will Levis, but the Seahawks just seem to find a way to win games lately.
3 – ATLANTA over Indianapolis – Seems like a game the Falcons should lose…so they’ll pull it out.
2 – TAMPA BAY over Jacksonville – I just want every headline about this game to start with “Florida Man …”
1 – CAROLINA over Green Bay – Well Packer fans, at least you’re doing your part to screw the Bears!
Normally, being just a week away from the last week of the season, playoff positions are solidified, and we need to take into account that teams may be benching start players.
Not this year though! While some teams have clinched a berth, it seems that every playoff seed is still up for grabs – making this just another week!
Happy New Years Everyone! Have fun and stay safe this weekend!
Week 17 – HERE WE GO!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – BUFFALO over New England – Bills get a nice breather before their season finale fight with the Dolphins next week.
15 – PHILADELPHIA over Arizona – The Eagles drew a lucky end of the year schedule to say the least.
14 – JACKSONVILLE over Carolina – Talk about needing this break in the schedule…seems to be a trend with the start of our sheet this week.
13 – San Francisco over WASHIGTON – Pretty easy to say that Brock Purdy will not have another game this week like he did last week.
12 – CLEVELAND over New York Jets – Ah yes, another “in prime time because we thought Aaron Rodgers would be playing” matchup.
11 – HOUSTON over Tennessee – This is completely based on CJ Stroud starting. If he’s not, drop this down several lines.
10 – KANSAS CITY over Cincinnati – So Taylor Swift is a curse, right?
9 – TAMPA BAY over New Orleans – Watch out for Tampa! My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that NOT ONLY WILL TAMPA WIN THE NFC SOUTH, THEY WILL WIN A PLAYOFF GAME AS WELL.
8 – CHICAGO over Atlanta – I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this season has gone perfect for the Bears!
7 – DALLAS over Detroit – This will be fun to see in a few weeks in the playoffs as well!
6 – Los Angeles Rams over NEW YORK GIANTS – I feel like the stands will be empty in a sign of New York solidarity with Tommy DeVito
5 – Las Vegas over INDIANAPOLIS – Could … could the Raiders make the playoffs??
4 – BALTIMORE over Miami – AFC Championship preview?
3 – SEATTLE over Pittsburgh – I feel like these two teams have been hard to predict lately…so flip a coin on this one.
2 – Green Bay over MINNESOTA –
1 – DENVER over Los Angeles Chargers – I called Russell Wilson being a bust as soon as the Broncos signed him … … … just saying.
To say this has been a year of uncertainty is an understatement.
So many injuries, coaching changes, player issues shaped this season into pure unpredictability. So we’re are gonna end the year with a toss up of our own. Winners will be picked like normal, but the points list will be based on when the games are played – should add an additional degree of interest to the season finale in Miami Sunday Night!
Before we get into the games, I just wanted to say thank you again for following along this year! I hope I helped you in your pools this year…and I’ll see you in September!
Week 18 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – MIAMI over Buffalo – We start with a symbol of the craziness – through the pre-season of Bills and Jets talk, the Dolphins end up winning the AFC East.
15 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over Kansas City – The Taylor Swift curse has been fun to watch.
14 – Los Angeles Rams over SAN FRANCISCO – Who knows who will play for the 9ers?
13 – ARIZONA over Seattle – This season seems like it should end with an L for the Seahawks
12 – Philadelphia over NEW YORK GIANTS – Did the Taylor Swift curse carry over to the whole Kelce family?
11 – LAS VEGAS over Denver – Give Pierce the job!
10 – Dallas over WASHINGTON – I wouldn’t be surprised if Washing pulls off the unnecessary upset in this one.
9 – GREEN BAY over Chicago – The future is bright Bears fans. My final BOLD PREDICTION for the season is that JUSTIN FIELDS WILL BE UNDER CENTER FOR THE BEARS TO START THE 2024 SEASON.
8 – CINCINNATI over Cleveland – Who knew it would be the Bengals season coming to an embarrassing end here and now the Browns!
7 – Tampa Bay over CAROLINA – The Bucs will win the NFC South…that’s the level of excitement this game deserves.
6 – New York Jets over NEW ENGLAND – So long, Bill!
5 – NEW ORLEANS over Atlanta – I’ll put the Falcons as the favorites to win the NFC South next year
4 – DETROIT over Minnesota – I can both see the Lions losing their first playoff game, and winning the NFC.
3 – Jacksonville over TENNESSEE – Despite their best efforts to blow it, the Jags will squeak out another AFC South title.
2 – INDIANAPOLIS over Houston – The Texans have set up something special for their future.
1 – Pittsburgh over BALTIMORE – I’ve gone against the Steelers too much to not pick them this week.
Folk, give yourselves a round of applause! We all did it!!
We have all gotten through the pain and torment that is the annual six to seven month period of our lives that does NOT include football!
Yes, we got a small taste of football with a full college schedule this past weekend. But, I mean, come on! There’s nothing like a full Sunday of the NFL.
I don’t know about you, but I’d say that it’s been LONG enough, let’s get back at it!
Week 1 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – NEW ORLEANS over Carolina – Well Panthers fans, at least after this miserable season, you’ll still have your first round pick to look forward to!
15 – CINCINNATI over New England – The Patriots have nothing around the quarterback right now – its smart to sit Drake Maye until they can get him some help. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that once the season ends…THE PATRIOTS WILL BE ON THE CLOCK WITH THE FIRST PICK IN THE DRAFT.
14 – BUFFALO over ARIZONA – With everyone that was lost over the off-season, this could be the make or break season for Josh Allen’s career.
13 – MIAMI over Jacksonville – Take the over on this one!
12 – SAN FRANCISCO over New York Jets – I’m not buying the Jets hype at all. They’ll comfortably finish third in the AFC East.
11 – SEATTLE over Denver – Well at least the Broncos were able to get away from Russell Wilson …
10 – ATLANTA over Pittsburgh – …well unfortunately the Steelers were not able to get away from Russell Wilson.
9 – KANSAS CITY over Baltimore – Hard to see the Chiefs making the same Thursday Night home opener mistake that they made last season.
8 – CHICAGO over Tennessee – I am fully on board the Bears hype train. No Super Bowl yet, but improvement and maybe even the playoffs.
7 – DETROIT over Los Angeles Rams – We are going into a season where the Lions are expected to make the playoffs … this is weird!
6 – Green Bay over PHILADELPHIA – Why can’t we just get an extended period of the Packers not having a potential MVP candidate quarterback??
5 – Las Vegas over LOS ANGELES CHARGERS – The Raiders put up 63 points on the Chargers the last time they played – maybe brining in Jim Harbaugh will be able to keep that number in the low 40s this time around.
4 – Houston over INDIANAPOLIS – This time last year I made a comment about how rough a year the Texans were going to have last season … … … I’d like to apologize.
3 – Dallas over CLEVELAND – This just seems like one of those games you expect the Cowboys to blow but escape with a win somehow.
2 – WASHIGNTON over TAMPA BAY – The Texans last year made a huge jump behind the play of their rookie quarterback – that will sound familiar this year.
1 – NEW YORK GIANTS over Minnesota – Another year of keeping the Giants on the one-point line if you think they are going to win.
