4/22/14, Earth Day Munchies, Fantasy News and Breaking Chains
Welcome to the pre-Baconfest show. Honestly, I've been rather distracted all week leading up to Baconfest, so you'll have to forgive us if we bacon a bit too often, which really is never often enough.
This week, we (sort of)returned to our (sort of) degenerate ways by placing another season long bet. While discussion the receivers Smith in Baltimore, I brought up Marlon Brown as a likely #2 receiver. Dave disagreed, and wagered that Steve Smith would finish with more points in a standard league than Marlon Brown by the end of the season. We're putting up a couple of expensive beers, and we shall see what happens.
After running down a few NFL topics, we discussed a few more local topics. We discussed Chicago's newest brewing resident, Lagunitas as well as the upcoming Baconfest. BACON! FEST! Baconfest! Seriously you guys, it's going to be awesome, and we'll get to drink Lagunitas there.
Finally, we discuss Breaking Chains, the latest Game of Thrones episode. We, of course, dug it mightily, as is tradition with this show. Stay tuned for my review of the show in a day or so. We also managed to hit on the season premiere of Orphan Black, which was well liked by both of us.

6/10/14, 2014 Draft - Potpourri, Let's Talk RB, The Scythe
This week, Dave and I are back to our normal degenerate ways and made a slightly larger bet than normal. This time, we have simply bet "barbecue". The fulfillment of that term will be up to the loser, but our bet is an over/under for Giovani Bernard scoring 211.1 points. Dave has the under and I have the over.
Last week we came up with the WR list, and this week we ranked our top 10 RB's.
1. Purple Jesus (Adrian Peterson)
2. Jamaal Charles
3. LeSean "Shady" McCoy
4. Matt Forte
5. Eddie Lacy
6. Marshawn Lynch
7. LeVeon Bell
8. Arian Foster
9. DeMarco Murray
10. Doug Martin
This week we enjoyed some Stone Go To IPA and Hopalicious from Ale Asylum in Madison. Both are excellent beers, and of course being hop heads, we picked two IPA's. We also enjoyed a little of the Wild Turkey Rye Whiskey, which is, of course, delicious.
Game of Thrones was rather epic this week. The battle at the Wall was everything we expected and more, definitely outshining the Battle of the Blackwater. Make sure to check out my breakdown of the episode, and we've got just one more to go in the season, and then on to something new.
Finally, we got into the fight of the year. The Mountain vs the Red Viper was pretty sweet, and we both agree that they pulled it off flawlessly. Check out my review of the episode here.

6/03/14, 2014 Draft - Burgers, WR Talk, Mountains & Vipers
On this week's show, we start off with a couple of "news" stories, and I use that term loosely since it's the beginning of June. We're mainly hearing about guys showing up to camp a little too round and other guys who are already tweaking and tearing things. We then strove to get a consensus top 10 list of Wide Receivers going in to 2014, and I think we both agree on this list.
1. Calvin Johnson
2. Demaryius Thomas
3. Julio Jones
4. Brandon Marshall
5. Dez Bryant
6. A.J. Green
7. Antonio Brown
8. Randall Cobb
9. Alshon Jeffery
10. Keenan Allen
Somehow we managed to avoid making a bet this week as well, but I have the feeling that next week that will change. We also broke down the second year Wide Receivers that we see has poised to have a breakout year. Stay tuned to the website for an in-depth breakdown of second year guys in the next few weeks.
Finally, we got into the fight of the year. The Mountain vs the Red Viper was pretty sweet, and we both agree that they pulled it off flawlessly. Check out my review of the episode here.

4/15/14, 2014 Free Agency - Tacos and Guacamole
This week the drinkfive podcast is a three-way conversation. Dave and I were joined by our buddy Miguel Matallanes for lots of fantasy talk and a bit of talk of Thrones. Dave and Miguel even made a bet, but more on that later. This week we broke down (in more than one way, sorry blogtalk listeners!) the progression of a fantasy player and discussed lots of strategy.
We picked three guys who we would like to have on our team this fall. Dave likes Tony Romo, Dexter McCluster and Kenny Stills. Jason (me) wouldn't mind having Eddie Lacy, Jay Cutler and Antonio Brown on my team. Miguel went with Andy Dalton, Josh Gordon and Alshon Jeffery.
After several weeks of drought, the gambling has resumed on the podcast. Miguel bet Dave that Alshon Jeffery would finish with more fantasy points than Brandon Marshall. The loser buys a bomber of their choice.
Finally, we mourned Dave's favorite Lannister, Joffrey, who came to a very colorful ending this week. We gushed over our favorite show for the final 20 minutes of the podcast, and are unashamed in doing it! More pie! Check out my review of the episode here.
