A wise man whose face is painted with neon colors first then black and white later has said, “the only thing that is for sure is that nothing is for sure.”
It seems like this is the theme for every week 3 – teams look amazing or terrible in week 1 and the look like a completely different team in week 2. The same holds true for this season as well.
Hey, it’s football…that’s what keeps things exciting!
Week 3 – HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN ALL CAPS)
16 – DALLAS over Chicago – Have…have you seen the Bears this season? Now they’re even losing several players. This week’s BOLD PREDICTION is that THE BEARS WILL HAVE THE FIRST PICK IN NEXT YEAR’S DRAFT.
15 – INDIANAPOLIS over San Diego – You can’t have a home game against the Jaguars every week, Chargers!
14 – SEATTLE over San Francisco – Barely winning against the Dolphins and losing to the Rams? Still not enough to make me lose faith in the Seahawks at home against the 9ers.
13 – TAMPA BAY over Los Angeles – I expect Jameis Winston to just light up the Rams’ defense.
12 – MIAMI over Cleveland – Nearly pulling off wins in Seattle and Foxboro are enough for me to throw the Fins a bone and give them a high number this week. That, and hosting the Josh McCown-less Browns…that also helps.
11 – GREEN BAY over Detroit – A home opener against the Lions should be the cure for what’s ailing the Packer’s offense
10 – CAROLINA over Minnesota – What a difference one knee will make for the Vikings!
9 – Arizona over BUFFALO – The Bills put up 31 points with their biggest offensive weapons fighting an injury…might as well fire the offensive coordinator! #Nepotism
8 – NEW YORK GIANTS over Washington – The Redskins looked promising coming off an improbable division championship…not so much this season.
7 – KANSAS CITY over New York Jets – This should be a good game but the Chiefs are too tough in Arrowhead.
6 – NEW ORLEANS over Atlanta – The home team comes out on top of this “Hey remember when we dominated this division” Bowl.
5 – CINCINNATI over Denver – Another playoff preview that will end up going to the home team.
4 – Oakland over TENNESSEE – The Raiders have given two exciting games so far. Expect another one this week.
3 – Houston over NEW ENGLAND – I’ll finish writing the prediction for this game unless I get a call to be the Patriots quarterback in which case I will have t…
2 – JACKSONVILLE over Baltimore – Jacksonville needs to win this one to salvage any of the summer hype!
1 – PHILADELPHIA over Pittsburgh – The Keystone Bowl actually won’t be one-sided. If Carson Wentz pulls this off with how good the Steelers have been looking, I will indeed be a believer!
Well, every week can’t be perfect!
Last week proved to be quite the unpredictable week. Luckily though, if you went with our picks, you may have still scored enough points to pull off the win. Now we are getting into the bye weeks. This means that the highest number lines are unavailable (no 16 point line this week).
This makes every game in this stretch of the season critical, especially if you are looking to do some climbing in your season pool. We have been doing pretty well so far this year, let’s just keep it rolling!
Week 4 – HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN ALL CAPS)
15 – NEW ENGLAND over Buffalo – Everything that the Patriots have done so far this season has been without Tom Brady…just think about that.
14 – CINCINNATI over Miami – The Bengals look like they will be keeping us on our toes all season. A primetime home game against the Dolphins shouldn’t need too much second guessing…right?
13 – HOUSTON over Tennessee – No JJ Watt? No problem. The Titans defense would be able to contain the Texans offense enough here.
12 – WASHINGTON over Cleveland – The ‘Skins finally showed some signs of life last week. Even in defeat, my BOLD PREDICTION is that TERRELLE PRYOR WILL ECLIPSE THE 100 YARD RECEIVING MARK.
11 – ARIZONA over Los Angeles – Seriously Cardinals? Seriously?
10 – MINNESOTA over New York Giants – The Vikings seem to be pretty resilient this season. Hard to see them losing at home to an up and down team like the Giants.
9 – Dallas over SAN FRANCISCO – If Dez doesn’t play, Dallas should still win, but drop them down a few lines.
8 – PITTSBURGH over Kansas City – I expect a very angry Steeler team to let out some aggression this week after such an embarrassing inter-state loss.
7 – Detroit over CHICAGO – Do you realize that the Bears have only won one game at Soldier Field in the last calendar year?
6 – NEW YORK JETS over Seattle – Look for the Jets to be more careful with the ball this week.
5 – Carolina over ATLANTA – The Falcons are the only team that I have not predicted a game correctly yet this season…so take this pick for what its worth.
4 – BALTIMORE over Oakland – The Raiders have proven to be too unpredictable this season to feel confident in them winning in Baltimore.
3 – JACKSONVILLE over Indianapolis – The Colts needed a 4th quarter comeback to win a home game against the Chargers … … … the CHARGERS!
2 – SAN DIEGO over New Orleans – Seems like just yesterday this game would seem more important.
1 – TAMPA BAY over Denver – Maybe its because it’s a cross country game, maybe it’s because the mighty Broncos have been traveling a lot lately. But let’s just call it like it is…this is just a hunch.
In what seems like a blink of an eye we are already at the quarter post of the NFL season.
Once again last week provided an exciting weekend of, apparently, unpredictable football. This seems like a good time to remind you that a lot of season-long pools will throw out your lowest score of the year.
Let’s just throw week 4 into that category and move on …
Week 5 – HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN ALL CAPS)
14 – PITTSBURGH over New York Jets – The Steelers were looking scary and now they have Le’Veon Bell back. Going to be tough to top them this year.
13 – MINNESOTA over Houston – A defense without JJ Watt is one to not really be feared.
12 – New England over CLEVELAND – New England lost at home last week…Tom Brady is back…Tom Brady is mad…this could be ugly.
11 – INDIANAPOLIS over Chicago – The Colts need a pick-me-up and they need it soon. A home game against the Bears should do the trick.
10 – GREEN BAY over New York Giants – OBJ is off, which means the Giants’ offense is out of options.
9 – OAKLAND over San Diego – The Chargers’ offense seems to be clicking, but their defense won’t be able to contain Derek Carr.
8 – LOS ANGELES over Buffalo – The Rams are 3-1, we’ll call this a deserved gift to be this high on the board.
7 – MIAMI over Tennessee – Someone has to win this one, right?
6 – DENVER over Atlanta – That now makes four weeks without a correct pick for the Falcons. So, again, take this pick for what it’s worth.
5 – BALTIMORE over Washington – The Ravens made a move this week to prove they are going younger. So look for another big game from Steve Smith Sr. … wait a minute …
4 – CAROLINA over Tampa Bay – This pick is based on Cam Newton not playing. IF he is, bump the Panthers up a few lines. But not too far, they have been confusing this season.
3 – DALLAS over Cincinnati – I have no good reason to explain this pick other than the game is played in Dallas.
2 – Philadelphia over DETROIT – The Eagles had an extra week for this one. This week’s BOLD PREDICTION is that CARSON WENTZ WILL HAVE HIS FIRST 4 TOUCHDOWN GAME THIS WEEK.
1 – SAN FRANCISCO over Arizona – The Cardinals were shaky before losing Carson Palmer this week. The 9ers may just be able to pull this one out.
We picked things up nicely last week with most of the top line picks coming in correct. Sure, there were a fair share of wrong picks, but they were on lower lines, so they don’t matter.
We’re here for the points. Now let’s go get some more!
Week 6 – HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN ALL CAPS)
15 – NEW ENGLAND over Cincinnati – Pretty safe to say that we will probably see the Patriots this high for most of the remaining games this season.
14 – BUFFALO over San Francisco – Are the Bills legit? We may not be able to tell just how legit yet, but a game against a Kap-run 49ers team will at least get them another win.
13 – Pittsburgh over MIAMI – I feel like some sort of a “storm heading to Miami” metaphor may be a little too soon … but, well, that.
12 – DETROIT over Los Angeles – After their home embarrassment last week, it looks like the Rams are on their way back to the Jeff Fischer 8-8 special.
11 – OAKLAND over Kansas City – The Raiders are 4-1 with only a +5 point differential. What does this mean? They know how to win games!
10 – SEATTLE over Atlanta – It’s not week 6 and I’m still waiting for my first correct pick for the Falcons – again, take this one for what it’s worth!
9 – GREEN BAY over Dallas – On the flip side, I am yet to miss on a Packers game. Again, take this for what it’s worth!
8 – NEW YORK GIANTS over Baltimore – Is O’Dell Beckham back? Doesn’t matter, the Ravens aren’t as good as their winning record suggests anyway.
7 – TENNESSEE over Cleveland – The two worst teams from a year ago collide in this…um…game I guess you could still call it. A game that is in Nashville so they win.
6 – HOUSTON over Indianapolis – A game of two division powerhouses has turned into a game of two division question marks. Even with the loss of the best defensive player in the game, my BOLD PREDICTION for this week is THE HOUSTON TEXANS WILL WIN THE AFC SOUTH.
5 – Denver over SAN DIEGO – Denver showed signs of mortality this week. But since there will be a fourth quarter played in this game, the Chargers will lose.
4 – WASHINGTON over Philadelphia – Carson Wentz got his first taste of NFL defeat last week. It will be hard to get that taste out of his mouth in this divisional road game.
3 – Carolina over NEW ORLEANS – The…the Panthers did go to the Super Bowl last year, right?
2 – ARIZONA over New York Jets – Equally as confusing, why are the Cardinals this low for a home game?
1 – CHICAGO over Jacksonville – Who knew that Brian Hoyer would be one of the most significant free agent signings this past off-season.
