It's the end of another exciting week of football which means it's time to put your claims in for available free agents in your fantasy league to strengthen your team. I'll be going over who I think are the top five picks for you to target this week so don't miss out on them. Good luck!

5) Jeremy McNichols (TEN) - 9% owned – McNichols should see increased playing time going forward with Derrick Henry undergoing potential season ending surgery. The Titans recently signed Adrian Peterson but expect McNichols to still be the primary passing down back.
4) Carlos Hyde (PHI) - 7% owned – James Robinson suffered a foot injury on Sunday leaving his status for week 9 up in the air. Hyde would be a volume play against the Bills if he ends up being thrust into a starting role.
3) Boston Scott (PHI) - 20% owned – It looks like Scott emerged with the hot hand at running back for Philidelphia after rushing for 60 yards and 2 touchdowns on 12 carries. He will still be in a committee with Gainwell and Howard but has a great matchup this week against the Chargers giving up the 5th most fantasy points against opposing RBs.
2) DeVante Parker (MIA) - 35% owned – Parker returned from injury putting up an 8 catch for 85 yard line against the Bills. Look for him to continue to be Tua’s go-to receiver in a soft matchup against the Texans in week 9.
1) Adrian Peterson (TEN) - 6% owned – The Titans will attempt to replace Derrick Henry with the future hall of famer. Peterson may not suit up for week 9 but should take over as the primary ball carrier once he is up to speed.

5) Deshaun Watson (HOU) - 18% owned – Purely a speculative pickup if you have the bench space and could use an upgrade at the quarterback position. The trade deadline is November 2nd and if Watson ends up going to a team where he will start you may not have the chance to get him when there will be more demand.
4) Cincinnati (CIN) - 19% owned – The Bengals have a dream matchup against a Jets team giving up the most fantasy points to opposing defenses. It’s not clear if they will be going up against the Jets recently acquired Joe Flacco or Mike White but either way they should dominate.
3) Kadarius Toney (NYG) - 46% owned – Toney has a chance to return from injury for a week 8 matchup against the Chiefs but even if he sits out another week he is a great pickup for the remainder of the season given the upside potential.
2) Allen Lazard (GB) - 5% owned – Davante Adams has landed on the COVID list making him uncertain to get cleared in time to play this Thursday which would put Lazard in a prime position in what is likely to be a high scoring affair against the Cardinals. Editor's Note: since this article was published, Lazard has also landed on the COVID list along with Adams.
1) Kenneth Gainwell (PHI) - 22% owned – Gainwell is expected to have a starting role for the next 2 to 3 weeks with Miles Sanders injuring his ankle. He may end up splitting carries with Boston Scott but Gainwell has the edge in the passing game.

5) Marquez Callaway (NO) - 35% owned – The Saints receiver core is depleted with Deonte Harris suffering a hamstring injury in week 6 and Michael Thomas/Tre’quan Smith still being on IR. Callaway could be in line for added targets this week against the Seahawks.
4) Darnell Mooney (CHI) - 44% owned – Mooney is becoming one of Justin Fields favorite targets catching 11 of 20 targets for 205 yards and a score over the past 3 weeks. He will be going up against a weakened Bucs secondary where the Bears will likely be passing to play catch up.
3) A.J. Green (ARZ) - 44% owned – Green seems to be turning back time in his first season with the Cardinals already catching 21 of 32 targets for 340 yards and 3 scores. He seems to be a consistent target in a high scoring offense making him a great WR3 during bye week fill ins.
2) Rashaad Penny (SEA) - 8% owned – Penny is returning from IR in week 7 and may be in line for a starting role with Chris Carson on IR and Alex Collins questionable. Worth a grab to wait and see if Collins ends up sitting as Penny would then be in line for a high volume game against the Saints.
1) D’Ernest Johnson (CLE) - 3% owned – The Browns backfield is banged up with both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt injured and either unlikely to play on a short week this Thursday night. Johnson looks to be the next man up with an opportunity to start against the Broncos.

5) Khalil Herbert (CHI) - 19% owned – The sixth round rookie got a lot more playing time than expected rushing 18 times for 75 yards. This still looks to be a timeshare situation with Damien Williams until starter David Montgomery returns but worth the pickup if you are desperate for a running back play for the next couple weeks.
4) Green Bay (GB) - 25% owned – The Packers go up against a weak Bears offense giving up the 8th most fantasy points to opposing defenses. Look for turnovers from rookie Justin Fields later in the game when trying to catch up in points.
3) Kadarius Toney (NYG) - 18% owned – The first round rookie is coming off a breakout performance against the Cowboys catching 10 of 13 passes for 189 yards. May be pause to plug and play in week 6 given he injured his ankle and may be without a concussed Daniel Jones, but worth the bench stash regardless.
2) Devontae Booker (NYG) - 7% owned – Booker will be the lead back for the Giants after Saquon Barkley suffered an ankle injury that put him in a walking boot and crutches. Look for Booker to build upon the 58 yard two touchdown performance he put up coming off the bench in week 5.
1) Darrel Williams (KC) - 18% owned – Clyde Edwards-Helaire will be out for a few weeks with a sprained MCL giving Williams opportunity to be the starting running back on a high powered offense. He should be the number 1 waiver add this week.
