NFL Confidence Pool Picks & Strategy 2021 - Week 8

I know what you are thinking, why am I bothering this week?

Why bother posting something this week since the NFL is taking a week off?

I completely understand why you would think that – it doesn’t really seem like the NFL will be playing any games this weekend.

Actually though, when I looked into it a little deeper, while the Raiders bye week does seem like no other game will happen, there will be a near-full slate of games, You’ll just have to wait an additional seven days to see the silver and black again.

I’m so sorry! BUT, we move on!

Week 8 – HERE WE GO!!!!

(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)

15 – BUFFALO over Miami – Tua says that he is confident that he is the Dolphins number one choice for their QB…yeah I don’t believe it either.

14 – Los Angeles Rams over HOUSTON – Brandin Cooks literally called out the BS of the Texans organization this week – not a good mindset to have when the Rams come to town.

13 – KANSAS CITY over New York Giants – OK, if the Chiefs can’t pull a Monday Night home win over the Giants off, then we can officially write them off this season.

12 – Cincinnati over NEW YORK JETS – The Bengals are legit – seems like this season they will have the rest of the AFC North Chase-ing them (see what I did there?)

11 – CLEVELAND over Pittsburgh – In their first meeting since last season’s playoff upset, it’s hard to see the outcome being any different.

10 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over New England – Last week might have been the Mac Jones coming out party, but it won’t be enough in LA.

9 – ARIZONA over Green Bay – Arguably the best game of the Thursday Night schedule – unfortunately COVID has made it so Aaron Rodgers won’t be able to throw the ball to anybody.

8 – San Francisco  over CHICAGO – Even with Matt Nagy off of the sidelines, it’s hard to pick the Bears.

7 – ATLANTA over Carolina – It seems as though the real Sam Darnold has indeed stood up.

6 – SEATTLE over Jacksonville – Geno Smith has come so close in the last two weeks, a home game against the Jags should be enough to get him over the hump.

5 – Tampa Bay over NEW ORLEANS – The Bucs stumbled in New Orleans last season and I was thinking about picking the upset here, but then remembered that Jameis Winston is not Drew Brees.

4 – Washington over DENVER – Stop me if you’ve heard this, but the Broncos aren’t good! My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is AFTER A 3-0 START, THE BRONCOS WILL FINISH WITH A TOP 5 PICK IN THE DRAFT NEXT YEAR.

3 – Philadelphia over DETROIT – It would make sense to think the Lions will get their first win here, but then you have to remember…Lions gonna Lions.

2 – INDIANAPOLIS over Tennessee – This just seems like a cool off game for the Titans after beating the Chiefs and Bills the last two weeks.

1 – MINNESOTA over Dallas – Apparently Dak’s health a question mark, which should be the opening the Vikings need.

NFL Confidence Pool Picks & Strategy 2021 - Week 7

This has been a dramatic season to say the least.

While that is great while you’re watching the games on Sunday, it does make things a little difficult when filling out your confidence picks. We have had several weeks already where we are sure about maybe one or two games but then the rest are toss-ups.

This week, we get a little break. It seems like there will be several games that will have an expected outcome. It may not be good for ratings, but it is a more than welcomed rest period for us!

Week 7 – HERE WE GO!!!!

(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)

13 – ARIZONA over Houston – If anyone is going to be the Cardinals right now, I would be more than willing to be that it won’t be Houston.

12 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over Detroit – It’s the game that Jared Goff has circled on his calendar…with a little note underneath that reads “fake an injury?”

11 – TAMPA BAY over Chicago – After this week I’m sure Tom Brady will be in contact with Aaron Rodgers and his broker to try and get some shares in the Bears.

10 – BALTIMORE over Cincinnati – The Bengals are on the way up – but the Ravens are looking to strong to stop right now.

9 – GREEN BAY over Washington – If Rodgers is looking to get into ownership, I’m more than willing to bet they’ll be an opening in Washington soon.

8 – LAS VEGAS over Philadelphia – The Raiders showed that they are keeping the past behind them and focusing on the next game at hand – bad news for Philly.

7 – NEW ENGLAND over New York Jets – Mac Jones showed us a lot against a tough Cowboys defense last week – should make a game against the Jets feel like a bye week.

6 – SAN FRANCISCO over Indianapolis – This is just a home team pick – if the game were in Indy the pick would be different.

5 – TENNESSEE over Kansas City – This was expected to be an AFC Championship Game preview…but the Chiefs don’t exactly seem like a team that can make it there at this point.

4 – CLEVELAND over Denver – Yes I know that the Browns offense will be auditioning for The Replacements 2, but Denver just isn’t that good.

3 – MIAMI over Atlanta – This game will be played…not too much else to say here.

2 – SEATTLE over New Orleans – I’ll admit, Geno Smith didn’t look horrible last week. Having the Seattle 12th Man behind him will more than help him out.

1 – NEW YORK GIANTS over Carolina – Have you noticed a pattern with the picks this week? My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE HOME TEAM WILL WIN EVERY GAME THIS WEEK.

NFL Confidence Pool Picks & Strategy 2021 - Week 6

Just like last week with the London games, we have another aspect of the NFL schedule starting up this week – bye weeks!

This can play big in your season long pools. If you have had a solid start and are sitting comfortably towards the top of the standings, you are loving bye weeks as the top numbers aren’t in play! You can’t have 15 and 16 point games where there are only 14 games played in a week!

On the flip side, if you need to make up ground, you need to make sure you hit as many picks as you can in a week.
Lucky for you, you’re reading my picks, so you’re good to go ?

Week 6 – HERE WE GO!!!!

(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)

14 – INDIANAPOLIS over Houston – The fact that the Colts are on the top line this week show’s how good the matchups are this week!

13 – PITTSBURGH over Seattle – Do you really have any confidence in Geno Smith going cross-country for a prime-time game?

12 – Los Angeles Rams over NEW YORK GIANTS – This wouldn’t be close even with a full, healthy Giants offense.

11 – Dallas over NEW ENGLAND – As you are reading this, Trevon Diggs just intercepted another pass.

10 – Tampa Bay over PHILADELPHIA – I credit my mocking the Eagles last week for their win in Carolina…no way it happens against Tampa though.

9 – CAROLINA over Minnesota – This is based on Christian McCaffrey playing – if he doesn’t, feel free to drop the Panthers down the list…maybe even pick the Vikings.

8 – DENVER over Las Vegas – I’ll need at least a week after all of the off-the-field issues to have confidence that the Raiders can win a
game again.

7 – JACKSONVILLE over Miami – After the Falcons and Jets, London now gets to see the Jags and Dolphins!! … … … sorry London.

6 – Green Bay over CHICAGO – A big road win last week has the Bears looking better than most thought they would this year…which will just be motivation for Aaron Rodgers to bring them back down to Earth.

5 – Kansas City over WASHINGTON – At this point, pick the Chiefs to win on the road just seems like holding on to something that needs to be let go.

4 – BALTIMORE over Los Angeles Chargers – It’s scary to think that Lamar Jackson is having a better year than his MVP season. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that LAMAR JACKSON WILL FINISH WITH 4,000 PASSING YARDS AND 1,000 RUSHING YARDS THIS SEASON.

3 – CLEVELAND over Arizona – This is just going to be a fun game to watch!

2 – TENNESSEE over Buffalo – The way the Bills are playing, if you think they will lose, you better keep them on a lower point line.

1 – DETROIT over Cincinnati – I mean, I just feel bad for the Lions and their fans at this point – feel free to call this a pity pick.

As we head into week 5, we also head into another feature of the NFL schedule – the London Games!

This week, in a game that starts at 8:30 CST, the league was kind enough to schedule the Falcons and the Jets so that if we oversleep,
it’s OK…it’s the Falcons and the Jets!

Week 5 – HERE WE GO!!!!

(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)

16 – TAMPA BAY over Miami – Now that the New England is in the rearview, Tom Brad can just focus on winning…that’s a little scary.

15 – MINNESOTA over Detroit – Yes the Vikings lost at home last week, but it still seems like they are one of the most underrated teams in the league.

14 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over Cleveland – The Chargers proved last week that they are the team to beat in one of the league’s most competitive divisions.

13 – DALLAS over New  York Giants – Not really sure why Jaylon Smith was cut, but a hit to the defense shouldn’t be an issue against the Giants.

12 – CAROLINA over Philadelphia – I have no faith in Jalen Hurts or the Eagles this season. In the lowest of lowly divisions, my BOLD PREDICTION is that THE EAGLES WILL FINISH LAST IN THE NFC EAST,

11 – BALTIMORE over Indianapolis – The city of Baltimore will FINALLY get revenge on the franchise that left them years ago! (I legit didn’t have anything to say about this game)

10 – ARIZONA over San Francisco – I would put the Cardinals higher if it wasn’t for a potential Trey Lance start.

9 – LAS VEGAS over Chicago – I’m not comparing them to Garrett and Clowney in Cleveland, but Yannick Ngakoue and Maxx Crosby will probably be making it a similar rough time for the Bears’ new QB1.

8 – Tennessee over JACKSONVILLE – When you lose to the Jets, you don’t get to have double-digit number confidence against the Jags.

7 – PITTSBURGH over Denver – The Steelers should just be lucky this is a home game.

6 – KANSAS CITY over Buffalo – The AFC Championship should end the same way as it did last January.

5 – SEATTLE over Los Angeles Rams – Finally a fun Thursday game to start the week off!

4 – New Orleans over WASHINGTON – This just seems like one of those matchups that Winston will find a way to win.

3 – New England over HOUSTON – If Tyrod Taylor were playing I would probably pick Houston in this one.

2 – CINCINNATI over Green Bay – Pure hunch on this one.

1 – New York Jets over ATLANTA – Not having any receivers cross the pond with you makes it hard to win a game.
