I’ve been following sports and wrestling since I can remember. Not too much, aside from my family, gives me as much joy as watching my Raiders, Blackhawks, Bulls, White Sox or WWE. Add in some honey Jack to sip on and that’s the equation for a perfect evening!
Normally, being just a week away from the last week of the season, playoff positions are solidified and we need to take into account that teams may be benching star players.
Not this year though! While some teams have clinched a berth, it seems that every playoff seed is still up for grabs and this is just another week!
Week 17 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – SAN FRANCISCO over Houston – Playing the Texans defense should take Trey Lance back to is Division 1-AA comfort zone.
15 – NEW ENGLAND over Jacksonville – This was the AFC Championship game just a couple years ago…just think about that for a sec.
14 – Tampa Bay over NEW YORK JETS – There’s nothing to say about this one, you know what it will be.
13 – BUFFALO over Atlanta – A home game against the Falcons is a nice reward for the Bills after a solid win last week.
12 – INDIANAPOLIS over Las Vegas – The Raiders would have a chance in this one if it were played in the first half of the season.
11 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over Denver – An AFC West divisional matchup isn’t really that exciting now the Chiefs have gone back to to their division dominating ways.
10 – GREEN BAY over Minnesota – Kirk Cousins was steadfast in his opinion to stay unvaccinated…and now it’s going to cost his team.
9 – DALLAS over Arizona – Injuries haven’t helped, but it almost seems that the Cardinals just aren’t ready to be legit contenders.
8 – Los Angeles Rams over BALTIMORE – This is just going to be a “what if” season for Baltimore.
7 – PITTSBURGH over Cleveland – In what will probably be Big Ben’s last home game in Pittsburgh, my BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that BEN ROETHLISBERGER WILL THROW FOR OVER 400 YARDS.
6 – CHICAGO over New York Giants – The Giants only viable option is Saquon Barkley and it seems like coming back to the scene of his torn ACL is on his mind too much.
5 – TENNESSEE over Miami – Yes, the Dolphins have won seven straight, but I can’t see them making it to eight straight.
4 – CINCINNATI over Kansas City – Call it a hunch but I can see the Bengals pulling this one out and gaining momentum for what could be a late January rematch.
3 – SEATTLE over Detroit – There is a reason this game is quietly tucked away in the farthest corner of the league.
2 – WASHINGTON over Philadelphia – Do yourself a favor – instead of watching this one, honor John Madden by watch an early 90’s Eagles/’Skins game with Madden on the call.
1 – Carolina over NEW ORLEANS – Looking at this Saints offense, I don’t think “enjoying retirement” is the only reason Drew Brees won’t come back.
It’s Christmas week and I think it’s safe to say that most teams wish lists are pretty similar…they want players!
Between injuries and COVID protocols, we have a player shortage that has rivaled that of the ongoing supply shortage in the world! Obviously, this makes it a little more difficult to make picks…but that’s just part of the fun!
Happy Holidays everyone! I hope you and your families have a safe and fun one!
16 – KANSAS CITY over Pittsburgh – It’s going to take a lot more than what the Steelers have right now to take down the Chiefs.
15 – DALLAS over Washington – I doubted the Cowboys the last time these two played – won’t make that mistake again.
14 – Tampa Bay over CAROLINA – A depleted offense won’t be an issue for the Bucs when they are against Cam Newton led offense.
13 – Los Angeles Chargers over HOUSTON – The Chargers are in need of a game against the Texans.
12 – GREEN BAY over Cleveland – It’s not the playoffs yet so you can still count on a Packers win.
11 – CINCINNATI over Baltimore – A backup backup quarterback isn’t the best strategy when heading into Cincy.
10 – SEATTLE over Chicago – Are excited are you to see Nick Foles under center for the Bears??
9 – PHILADELPHIA over New York Giants – How can you predict the Giants to win another game this season?
8 – LAS VEGAS over Denver – Not only do the Raiders collapse in the second half of seasons, but once pretty much out of playoff contention, they get back on the winning track to mess up their draft position…this year will be no different.
7 – ATLANTA over Detroit – The Falcons haven’t been good this season, but they are good enough to win at home against the Lions…so that’s something I guess.
6 – Los Angeles Rams over MINNESOTA – If Dalvin Cook does play in this one, still pick the Rams but drop it down a few lines.
5 – TENNESSEE over San Francisco – AJ Brown is back and should be heavily used for a Titans win.
4 – NEW ENGLAND over Buffalo –The Pats should all but wrap up the AFC East crown after this week.
3 – Indianapolis over ARIZONA – Just hand the ball off, Carson! My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that Jonathan Taylor will rush for over 200 yards this week.
2 – Miami over NEW ORLEANS – When you have to bring in a rookie quarterback to start, you’re chances to win are pretty slim.
Finally! They’re done!
We are heading into week 15 and FINALLY we are done with bye weeks! 16 games a week for the rest of the season! That means we’ll have more chance for points in our pools.
Of course…we do have to pick them correctly.
So let’s get to it!
Week 15 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – BUFFALO over Carolina – After two tough losses to top teams, the Bills need a home game against the Panthers.
15 – MIAMI over New York Jets – The Dolphins have quietly had a solid defense this year – not good news for the lowly Jets offense.
14 – Arizona over DETROIT – No Hopkins, no problem when you’re playing the Lions.
13 – TAMPA BAY over New Orleans – Looks like Breshard Perriman is ready for another late season run!
12 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over Seattle – It’s still odd to think that in this point of the season the Seahawks would be steadily in the top 10 of next year’s draft and…
11 – SAN FRANCISCO over Atlanta – …The 49ers would be right in the thick of the playoff hunt!
10 – Dallas over NEW YORK GIANTS – It’s good for the Cowboys to have several divisional matchups to end the season…but will it prepare them properly for the playoffs?
9 – PITTSBURGH over Tennessee – This will be a game the Titans miss Henry…and Brown…and really any sort of offense.
8 – CLEVELAND over Las Vegas – I don’t know what the over/under is for Myles Garrett sacks, but whatever it is, bet the over.
7 – Kansas City over LOS ANGELES CHARGERS – Yep, they’re back. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that after a slow start, THE CHIEFS WILL MAKE THEIR THIRD STRAIGHT SUPER BOWL.
6 – INDIANAPOLIS over New England – Not exactly a Brady/Manning matchup, but should still be an exciting game.
5 – Minnesota over CHICAGO – Hey top Bears execs, did you see the Jags just fired their coach in-season? It is possible to do.
4 – Cincinnati over DENVER – I’ve been big on the Bengals this year…they keep losing. I’ve been down on the Broncos this year…they keep winning. Take this pick with a grain of salt.
3 – Green Bay over BALTIMORE – If Lamar ends up playing for the Ravens, keep this game on this line but flip to a Ravens win.
2 – PHILADELPHIA over Washington – Though they put up a fight late last week, I’d say I’m off the Washington bandwagon.
1 – JACKSONVILLE over Houston – When you remove the biggest distraction of your organization, you get to win a game!
