I’ve been following sports and wrestling since I can remember. Not too much, aside from my family, gives me as much joy as watching my Raiders, Blackhawks, Bulls, White Sox or WWE. Add in some honey Jack to sip on and that’s the equation for a perfect evening!
We are creeping up on the end of another amazing football season.
Now is the time where teams are locking up playoff spots and sitting their best players to keep them healthy for the playoffs. Obviously this will have an impact on your confidence pool decisions.
Lucky for us the playoff races this year are pretty crazy. Nothing is locked up at this point so we have just another Sunday!
Merry Christmas everyone!
Week 16 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – NEW ENGLAND over Buffalo – Unfortunately for the Bills, the Pats have not locked home field up just yet.
15 – KANSAS CITY over Miami – They still don’t seem like the team that dominated the first half of the season, but the Chiefs still look ready for the playoffs.
14 – BALTIMORE over Indianapolis – The Ravens are fighting for their playoff lives…the Colts…well the Colts aren’t.
13 – CAROLINA over Tampa Bay – Cam seems to be getting his swagger back. That could mean trouble for the NFC.
12 – PHILADELPHIA over Oakland – Pretty safe to say that, unlike the Cowboys last week, the Eagles won’t need the assistance of a folded up piece of paper to beat the Raiders.
11 – CHICAGO over Cleveland – The NFL gave Bears’ fans a Christmas present this year by scheduling a home game against the Browns.
10 – WASHINGTON over Denver – Paxton Lynch could be back under center for the Broncos…so that pretty much sums things up.
9 – Minnesota over GREEN BAY – Thanks for stopping by Aaron! We’ll see you next year.
8 – NEW ORLEANS over Atlanta – The Falcons have struggled in the division. Doesn’t bode well for their trip inside the SuperDome.
7 – Jacksonville over SAN FRANCISCO – The Jaguars are in the playoffs! The 49ers have won four in a row! Where am I? My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that JIMMY GARAPLO WILL BE A PRO BOWLER NEXT YEAR.
6 – Pittsburgh over HOUSTON – No AB will slow down the Steelers, but not enough to leave Houston with an L.
5 – Los Angeles Rams over TENNESSEE – A second road trip in a row nearly across the country may have an effect on the Rams…but not the way that they have been looking lately!
4 – NEW YORK JETS over Los Angeles Chargers – The Jets put a cramp in the Chiefs playoffs plans a few weeks ago. Insert a different AFC West team and get the same results.
3 – DALLAS over Seattle – Zeke will have a point to prove…the Seahawks have been warned.
2 – ARIZONA over New York Giants – This is a game that will be played…that is all.
1 – CINCINNATI over Detroit – If nothing else, the Bengals will have the “win one for the gipper” mentality.
Well the plan was to keep the week 13 momentum going into week 14. That…well that didn’t happen.
So now, we make a new momentum streak right? … … … RIGHT? I have (wait for it) confidence that we will do just that! (see…because it’s a confidence pool piece…trust me, it’s hilarious)
Week 15 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – NEW ORLEANS over New York Jets – The Jets have had a better than expected run this season…meaning they won more than no games. With Josh McCown’s broken hand though, they may be reverting back to pre-season expectations.
15 – JACKSONVILLE over Houston – DeShaun Watson would have made this a Game of the Week contender…Tom Savage would have given the Texans somewhat of a chance…soooooo yeah.
14 – WASHINGTON over Arizona – This season’s Cardinals team really makes me feel bad for Larry Fitzgerald.
13 – MINNESOTA over Cincinnati – A drubbing at home against the Bears should signal the end of the Marvin Lewis era…right?
12 – KANSAS CITY over Los Angeles Chargers – Welp, looks like the Chiefs have finally given us a reason to have confidence in them again. Lucky for them it’s during the two week period where they host their biggest division rivals.
11 – DETROIT over Chicago – We get Saturday football this week! And in doing so we get to get the game of the NFC North’s other two teams out of the way.
10 – Denver over INDIANAPOLIS – Don’t forget, the Broncos were a pretty solid team before Trevor Siemian went down.
9 – PITTSBURGH over New England – For Antonio Brown this year, a 125 yard game could very well be considered a bad game. My BOLD PREDICTION is that ANTONIO BROWN WILL HAVE ANOTHER 200 YARD GAME THIS WEEK.
8 – Baltimore over CLEVELAND – It would be pretty sweet for the Browns to get their first win of the season against their old franchise. Hey it could happ…no…no probably not.
7 – Philadelphia over NEW YORK GIANTS – The Eagles may take a step back after the injury to Carson Wentz. It just won’t be this week.
6 – BUFFALO over Miami – Jay Cutler outplayed Tom Brady last week. That should take care of his good play until about 2019.
5 – OAKLAND over Dallas – When this game was announced back in April it was tabbed as a potential Super Bowl preview. Aahhh…those were the good ol’ days!
4 – SEATTLE over Los Angeles Rams – The Rams missed a golden opportunity last week against Philly that they may not be able to come back from.
3 – CAROLINA over Green Bay –Welcome back Aaron Rodgers! Don’t think it will be enough to win in Charlotte the way the Panthers have been playing.
2 – SAN FRANCISCO over Tennessee – Three straight wins for the 49ers…that’s just weird.
1 – Atlanta over TAMPA BAY – Not that they are a bad team, but the Falcons seem to be a team where if you think they will win, keep them on a low line because you just never know.
We have reached the last quarter of the season. Time to make that stretch run at the top spot of your pool!
Week 13 proved to be a solid one for us. So let’s keep that momentum going!
Week 14 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – HOUSTON over San Francisco – The non DeShaun Watson-led Texans are at the top of the board this week…that pretty much sums up how close these games are going to be.
15 – BUFFALO over Indianapolis – The Bills are second from the top of the board…that pretty much sums up how close these games are going to be…and a little about how bad the Colts are this year.
14 – CINCINNATI over Chicago – Cincy blew a 17 point lead last week…and my chances of my pool’s top spot for the week. I was going to punish them by not picking them but, well, they’re hosting the Bears…so…
13 – PITTSBURGH over Baltimore – Pittsburgh is peaking at the right time. That and the fact that the Ravens’ top CB is now out for the year will give the Steelers another big win.
12 – New England over MIAMI – Tom Brady didn’t have a good week last week. All apologies to the Dolphins this week.
11 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over Washington – Phillip Rivers is actually making it seem like the Chargers should be relevant in the month of December. Good thing too since the Chiefs decided to not win football games anymore.
10 – TAMPA BAY over Detroit – This former NFC Central matchup is proving to be as irrelevant as their meetings in the mid-90s. Tampa gets the “home team” nod in this one.
9 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over Philadelphia – Taking a close look at the Eagles’ season, they don’t fare well against solid teams. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE EAGLES WILL NOT WIN A PLAYOFF GAME THIS YEAR.
8 – ATLANTA over New Orleans – The Falcon’s playoff hopes are starting to sip away a bit. This Thursday Night matchup will show that they realize that.
7 – JACKSONVILLE over Seattle – In this week’s “could you imagine seeing this in the pre-season” pick, the Jags should be able to contain Russel Wilson enough to take a step towards the AFC South top spot.
6 – ARIZONA over Tennessee – …a top spot that is owned by the Titans right now…somehow. Not for long though.
5 – New York Jets over DENVER – This Jets defense is just fun to watch. So much so that they may even be able to pick up this road win.
4 – CAROLINA over Minnesota – I said last week that the Vikings wouldn’t be able to win a big road game. Well…they won’t be able to do it twice in a row…
3 – Green Bay over CLEVELAND – Mr. Hundley, you’ve done…well, enough. Now get this quick road win in Cleveland and give Mr. Rodgers the keys back. Me and all of the other Jordy Nelson fantasy owners will thank you!
2 – NEW YORK GIANTS over Dallas – All seem right(er) in the world of the Giants this week. Possibly even enough for them to win a football game!
1 – Oakland over KANSAS CITY – Why is there ANY reason to have faith in the Chiefs?
We are winding down the 2017 season. More so that that at this point, we are getting very close to the end of the Fantasy Football season.
Unfortunately what that means is that some may be putting all of their focus on their fantasy roster rather than their confidence picks – don’t do that! In fact, it is more of a reason to put more focus on your confidence picks – let everyone else in your pool be distracted!
Week 13 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over Cleveland – The Chargers have been one of the hottest teams in the league recently. The Browns…the Browns have not been.
15 – JACKSONVILLE over Indianapolis – Jacoby Brissett doesn’t exactly have the firepower needed to counter the top defense in the league…on the road.
14 – New England over BUFFALO – The Bills have been able to top the Pats at home more frequently than others in recent years, but they haven’t been in this much internal turmoil before.
13 – OAKLAND over New York Giants – I was a little concerned with Michael Crabtree and more than likely Amari Cooper being out for this game…then the Giants named Geno Smith their starter…sooooooo……
12 – TENNESSEE over Houston – The second AFC South matchup on the list will further prove that there was a decent gap this season between the top two and bottom two teams.
11 – BALTIMORE over Detroit – It has been an up and down year for the Lions – this matchup will probably continue their slide.
10 – NEW ORLEANS over Carolina – The win streak came to an end last week – which could prove to be beneficial for the Saints.
9 – Los Angeles Rams over ARIZONA – It might have been closer with Carson Palmer under center but the Cardinals just won’t be able to keep up with Rams.
8 – ATLANTA over Minnesota – The Vikings have quietly climbed towards the top of the NFC standings, but I still have doubts about them winning big games on the road.
7 – NEW YORK JETS over Kansas City – Has any team been on more of a slide than the Chiefs? My BOLD PREDICTION for the week is after starting off the season as one of the best teams in the league THE CHIEFS WILL NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.
6 – Washington over DALLAS – Everyone is talking about the Packers dependence on Aaron Rodgers – how about the Cowboys’ apparent dependence on Ezekial Elliot?
5 – MIAMI over Denver – This game is just going to be brutal.
4 – SEATTLE over Philadelphia – It will take a lot to take down the Eagles this year. A primetime game in Seattle might just do it.
3 – GREEN BAY over Tampa Bay – A strong showing in Pittsburgh last week is enough to restore some confidence in the Green and Gold … … … but not much.
2 – CHICAGO over San Francisco – Well congrats Bears, you’ll probably win another meaningless game that will drop you down further in the draft order. Prioritize!
1 – CINCINNATI over Pittsburgh – Hunch...pure hunch…hunches shouldn’t be higher than a 1.
