Two weeks into the season and already the injury train is a-rollin'. Hopefully your team isn't too devastated, but I suppose there's the chance that you drafted Nelson, Benjamin and Desean Jackson. There's always next year for you. For the rest of us, check out the Week 3 rankings below.
We like Drew Brees more than most, and think you should be starting him if he plays this week. Ryan Tannehill, on the other hand, could definitely struggle in an offense that hasn't clicked yet, especially since he is going up against the Bills, one of the early season defensive beasts. Giovani Bernard is definitely a guy you need to get into your lineup this week. Jeremy Hill may very well be in the doghouse, and Bernard has been very productive over the first two games this season. I would recommend caution when starting Devonta Freeman this week. He hasn't put up great numbers in the opportunities he has had in his young career and I don't expect him to suddenly turn it all around with the starting job. There's a reason they went with rookie Tevin Coleman first.
We like Percy Harvin as a WR3 this week. He's gotten consistent looks in each of the first two weeks and appears to be a favored, if not favorite, target of Tyrod Taylor. Watch out with Davante Adams this week. He was banged up in week 2 and is losing touches to James Jones and possibly Ty Montgomery as well. Jared Cook is poised for a breakout game in a matchup that could result in the Rams scoring a bunch of garbage time points, like the 49ers did last week. Be wary of starting Jordan Cameron this week. He suffered a groin injury during week 2 and has a history of not performing well when injured. Add that to a matchup with the Bills and he's a sit in our book.
Good luck this week, and try to avoid last-minute lineup changes. Don't second guess yourself!
Week 3 starts tonight with Jacoby Brissett (not listed below) starting for the Pats, almost as interesting as the chance of Julian Edelman being the backup QB. Knowing Belichick, it'll work out anyways. As for the rest of the week, try to get Sterling Shepard in your lineup and don't forget about Matt Ryan, our #2 QB this week. As always, make sure you check our our weekly podcast to go more in-depth on our thoughts for this week.

You saw it out there - it was a massacre. Weeks like this happen from time to time during an NFL season, but the sheer number of injuries to prominent fantasy players in one week was enough to make team manager cry. And I'm betting quite a few people out there that had guys like Saquon Barkley and Christian McCaffrey drowned their fantasy football sorrows with a few glasses of whiskey. Regardless, the show must go on and I'm here to provide a guide to those players that you may want to get on your active roster in a hurry. Here's hoping that week 3 doesn't put even more people on the injured reserve!
Guys that jump out to me this week to overperform expectations: Matt Ryan, Michael Gallup, A.J. Green, Chris Herndon, Dalton Schultz, and the Arizona Cardinals (DST).
Pay attention to these rankings throughout the season, as they will continue to evolve based on the latest injury updates, news, and player analysis. Have any specific lineup questions? Feel free to tweet us @drinkfive with any of your questions or comments!
Set 'em up and knock 'em down! We hope that you have gotten through ok to the other side in week 3, but regardless it is still early in the season so even if you're off to an 0-2 start there is still time to right the ship. Some players that I think will surprise and overperform other experts' projections this week are Sony Michel, Marquez Callaway, David Njoku, and Pat Freiermuth. Check out our top weekly waiver pickups and make smart decisions early in the season. Consider playing high-floor guys in most of your early week matchups since there is still a ton of variability in fantasy production right now. Best of luck!
