We continue cruising through the NFL season, and here in week 4, it seems like the injuries have slowed down just a little. Let's hope you get a few more weeks before you need to worry about rebuilding your entire fantasy team. Week 4 also marks the beginning of the by weeks, with the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans. Also, the Jets and Dolphins play at 8:30 CST on Sunday morning, live from London!
Tyrod Taylor has been lighting the world up over the first three weeks, and has made it up to #3 on our weekly rankings, mostly based on his matchup with the Giants average passing defense. In two QB leagues, watch out for Dave's long predicted fall of Ryan Fitzpatrick, now that he's completed three games this year. Karlos Williams finds himself in our top 10, mostly due to the fact that LeSean McCoy has been hobbled and may just sit out week 4. Devonta Freeman, while putting up a monster game in week 3, should come back down to earth against the Texans defense. Freeman got his production through sheer volume of touches, so don't expect lots of magic to happen unless the Texans defense falls apart like the Cowboys did last week.
Sticking with the Bills, we have a third guy from that team, Percy Harvin, who we really like this week. Harvin has 20 touches through three games, and they're well spread out. It seems like he will continue to get work all year, as long as he's healthy. Davante Adams, meanwhile, is a guy to just go ahead and avoid this week. (Yes, this sounds a whole lot like the advice from last week, but it wasn't bad, was it?) Adams basically missed the whole game on Monday night due to his ankle injury, and it's clear that he's taken a backseat to James Jones.
Ladarius Green did sit out week 3 with a concussion, but if he plays in week 4, he could be a decent bye week replacement. The Chargers play the Browns, who have given up the 10th most fantasy points to opposing TE's. On the flipside, Eric Ebron has been OK, but the ship appears to be sinking in Detroit, so don't jump on now. Two weeks in a row, we've heard reports of other teams calling out the Lions's plays before the snap. If that continues, their offense will struggle mightily.
Good luck in week 4, and don't forget to get your waiver wire claims in before the deadline!
Well, it's time we all moved on from super injury Sunday and get down to the business of setting up your week 9 lineups. This week, Arizona, Baltimore, Detroit, Houston, Kansas City and Seattle are all on bye. This is the only week of the year with 6 teams on bye, so this is as bad as it gets.
Tyrod Taylor should return to the lineup this week, and he deserves to return to yours as well, with a decent matchup against Miami, whom they beat up on earlier this season. This time they're playing at home and the Bills should rebound nicely after a bye week. Andrew Luck who is also at home this week, ought to take a seat for this week. After seeing what the Broncos did last week to Aaron Rodgers, you don't want to start Luck.
If you're in need of a flex play, Ryan Mathews should find some running room against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night (if he’s healthy). He's looked like a better fit for the Philly offense (and has the most rushing yards on the team), it's only a matter of time before Chip Kelly admits it. Melvin Gordon, despite lots of touches, continues to do nothing with them. Leave him on your bench this week in favor of Mathews or Matt Jones.
Don't worry about last week's disappearing act by James Jones - that Denver defense is just special. Even against the Panthers, I expect the Pack to return to form, including Jones. Brandon LaFell is starting to return to form, but he needs another week to work the kinks out, so keep him out of your lineup until next week.
Julius Thomas is a guy who has worked out most of his kinks, and after a bye week, should be a fine TE1 option. This is despite their matchup with the Jets. Start him over this week's hot pickup, Heath Miller. Even though Ben is back, I expect him to spread the ball out to his receivers more than having to dump it off to Miller.
Welcome back to the article geared to strike it big in the Fanduel Sunday Millions. I was on hiatus last week, but back now and ready to help you make some cash. This week we are going full upside on a boom or bust QB/WR stack, grab some great value plays at the RB position and rolling with a single team’s defense and kicker. Good luck this week!
QB - Tyrod Taylor, BUF - $7,500 at PHI: After topping at least 26 fantasy points the past two weeks Taylor looks to be a great value play against an Eagles team allowing the third most fantasy points to opposing QBs this season.
RB - Doug Martin, TB - $8,000 vs. NO: Anyone playing against the Saints defense should be a considered play, but especially Martin since he will be a lock for 20 plus touches in this game.
RB - Lamar Miller, MIA - $6,600 vs. NYG: The Dolphins new offensive coordinator in Miami appears to be committed to a running game as Miller had his first game over 20 touches of the season.
WR - Alshon Jeffery, CHI - $7,500 vs. WAS: The Bears are extremely thin at the receiver position which means Jeffery should be in line for double digit targets this week against the Redskins.
WR - Sammy Watkins, BUF - $7,200 at PHI: Stacking Watkins with Taylor this week to increase the point upside. Watkins has 267 yards and three touchdowns over the last two weeks.
WR - Brandin Cooks, WAS - $7,100 at TB: The loss of Mark Ingram for the season should provide more opportunities for other play makers on the Saints.
TE - Greg Olsen, CAR - $6,600 vs. ATL: Expecting Olsen to find the end zone at least once it what could be a high scoring divisional grudge match.
K - Cairo Santos, KC - $4,700 vs. SD : Santos has been high risk high reward all season but his point floor should get a boost against the Chargers susceptible defense.
DEF - Chiefs, KC - $4,800 vs. SD: The Chiefs defense has been on fire lately scoring more fantasy points than any other team the past four weeks. The depleted Chargers shouldn't slow them down.
The end of the fantasy football regular season is upon us. You're basically already in the playoffs and looking forward, or your playoffs start this week because if you don't win, you aren't advancing. Either way, good luck this week and make sure to check back before the first games start on Sunday to get the most up-to-date rankings.
So far this week, we really like Tyrod Taylor and Carson Palmer as a QB2, over a guy like Kirk Cousins, who has a touch matchup against the Cardinals. Frank Gore is a guy to plug in as an RB2, meanwhile Matt Forte's inconsistency has caused him to fall in our rankings, though he's probably a better option than most still. At wideout, we've been impressed with the performance of Devante Parker lately, and recommend you keep him in your lineup if there's room. On the other side, it's probably time to move on from Deandre Hopkins, that is, if you like winning.
