Survivor Pool: Week 8

Published in Fantasy Football / NFL

Well, I was really pulling for the Redskins on Thursday night as nearly 2/3rds of the remaining players had selected the Minnesota Vikings. Having used the Vikings week 5 they were not an option for me this week. So I narrowed it down to another two big favorites that I like this week.

First is the Los Angeles Rams against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals look to be the weakest team the Rams will face the rest of the season, so this might be the best game to take the Rams had it not been in London. I have yet to see a team perform well across the pond, I think they legislate we kick more field goals or something when the NFL sends teams over. With the close call this week I am going to save a solid Rams team for another week.

So that led me to the other team that I ultimately picked, the Pittsburgh Steelers going up against the Miami Dolphins at home where they are two-touchdown favorites. Without Ben Roethlisberger this is the only game on the Steelers schedule that I would feel comfortable picking them. Now I wish I was getting Josh Rosen against this Steeler defense but I think they can get a few turnovers from old man Fitzpatrick regardless.

NFL Confidence Pool Picks & Strategy 2020 - Week 3

Published in Fantasy Football / NFL

I don’t know about you but I started to hurt just watching the games last week.

Whether it is due to the lack of preseason prep or poor field conditions, several teams saw key players go down for injury including superstars who are gone for the year.

Obviously this will have an impact on our picks. You need to keep up with the injury list, teams will be looking different starting this week!

Week 3 – HERE WE GO!!!!

(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)

16 – INDIANAPOLIS over New York Jets – Pretty safe to say the Jets are filling in nicely for the Jags in the “Tank for Trevor” role.

15 – ARIZONA over Detroit – It’s pretty much going to be a continuation of last week’s debacle in Green Bay for the Lions.

14 – PITTSBURGH over Houston – The Steelers are going to be the team to give the Chiefs and Ravens the most problems in the AFC this year.

13 – Tampa Bay over DENVER – Injuries are making an already bad season for the Broncos worse.

12 – SEATTLE over Dallas – Dak and the ‘Boys are going to find out that not every team regularly blows a lead.

11 – JACKSONVILLE over Miami – After my negative prediction in week 1, I would like to take full credit for the Jaguars looking some sort of relevant,

10 – PHILADELPHIA over Cincinnati – If you wanted to drop the Eagles a few spots on your list, I wouldn’t take it personally.

9 – ATLANTA over Chicago – Eesh…well think of it this way Falcons fans…at least it was just week 2! At least you didn’t blow that kind of a lead in the Super B…oh…

8 – Tennessee over MINNESOTA – Remember when I said it would be an entertaining battle all year between the Packers and Vikings? Yeah…battle’s over!

7 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over Carolina – Justin Herbert better succeed, or apparently the Chargers will sick their doctor on him too!

6 – CLEVELAND over Washington – This game will happen…what else is there to say.

5 – BALTIMORE over Kansas City – We already get the Game of the Year and the Ravens are just happy that will be played on the East coast.

4 – BUFFALO over Los Angeles Rams – The Pats haven’t exactly gone away, but change is here. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE BILLS WILL WIN THE AFC EAST.

3 – NEW ENGLAND over Las Vegas – Cam has been a pleasant surprise for New England fans and will be just enough to contain Vegas.

2 – Green Bay over NEW ORLEANS – The Raiders showed and the Bucs almost showed that if you have an offense that can pile on the points, you can beat these Saints.

1 – NEW YORK GIANTS over San Francisco – A combination the 9ers players that were injured last night and those that weren’t but have the mentality of playing on the same exact field will be enough for the Giants to pull off the major upset.

NFL Confidence Pool Picks & Strategy 2020 - Week 5

Published in Fantasy Football / NFL
This was supposed to be the first week of Bye Weeks. Thanks to the Titans though, we have already gotten a good taste of missed games.

And thanks to their collective irresponsibility, navigating through Bye Weeks and just weeks teams don’t play will be as easy as navigating Minesweeper – and as easy to understand as well.

Nevertheless, games are currently on slated to be played this week, so we need to decide our confidence in their victors!

Week 5 – HERE WE GO!!!!

(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)

15 – PITTSBURGH over Philadelphia – Aren’t too many games you’d think an NFC East team will win outside of a divisional game!

14 – NEW ENGLAND over Denver – Still no Cam this week – doesn’t really matter when going up against…I don’t know, whoever is under center for the Broncos.

13 – BALTIMORE over Cincinnati – I really think Joe Burrow will be a solid franchise quarterback – he just doesn’t have enough to keep up with the Ravens offense.

12 – SEATTLE over Minnesota – You can’t play Bill O’Brien every week, Vikes!

11 – Tampa Bay – over CHICAGO – I know this is technically a battle of 3-1 teams…but…I mean…come on…

10 – DALLAS over New York Giants – Lucky for the Cowboys you don’t need to have a solid defense when playing the Giants. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE COWBOYS WILL WIN THE NFC EAST… WITH A LOSING RECORD.

9 – Los Angeles Rams over WASHINGTON – It was smart for Washington to move away from Haskins, but it won’t be enough to have a chance this week.

8 – HOUSTON over Jacksonville – I don’t think the Texans have been this motivated to win a game in quite some time!

7 – KANSAS CITY over Las Vegas – Obviously this game should be higher, but we all saw the picture of Stephon Gilmore with Patrick Mahomes. There are still a few days for a positive Mahomes test.

6 – Indianapolis over CLEVELAND – Just like the Bears, the 3-1 record for the Browns is pretty deceiving.

5 – Buffalo over TENNESSEE – This could be the easiest points you get this year if the game is a forfeit!

4 – Arizona over NEW YORK JETS – The Cardinals definitely NEED a game against the Jets to right their ship

3 – SAN FRANCISCO over Miami – Yes the 9ers are the better team, but my Fitzmagic senses are tingling…

2 – NEW ORLEANS over Los Angeles Chargers – Yes, the Saints are the better team, but my Herbmagic sense are tingling…(wait, that sounds like something different…)

1 – ATLANTA over Carolina – At no point can you have a large amount of confidence is you think the Falcons will win.

NFL Confidence Pool Picks & Strategy 2020 - Week 9

Published in Fantasy Football / NFL
Football! Football! For the love of God after the week this country has had – FOOTBALL!!

Election Day has seemingly turned into Groundhog Day with no end in sight. Leave it to football to give us all an escape we so desperately need!

So let’s not waste any more time!

Week 9 – HERE WE GO!!!!

(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)

14 – KANSAS CITY over Carolina – Looks like Run CMC might be back in the Panthers backfield…unfortunately it will be in a week where need more than just him.

13 – TENNESSEE over Chicago – The Titans took a step back in Cincinnati last week. They should have no problem using the Bears to reassert their dominant impression.

12 – Pittsburgh over DALLAS – This…this could get ugly!

11 – GREEN BAY over San Francisco – I was excited about the possibility of actually having a solid Thursday Night Football matchup – that was before we knew the 9ers would be playing their 4th string.

10 – TAMPA BAY over New Orleans – These are not the same teams that played each other in week 1.

9 – ARIZONA over Miami – The Dolphins defense used up their one good game a year card last week and won't be able to handle Kyler.

8 – Houston over JACKSONVILLE – Houston has been struggling but at least they get to play against Jacksonville QB…um…named…anyway Texans win.

7 – MINNESOTA over Detroit – As long as Kirk Cousins doesn’t have to win a game, the Vikings have a chance. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that KIRK COUSINS WILL NOT BE THE QUARTERBACK OF THE VIKIGNS NEXT YEAR.

6 – Las Vegas over LOS ANGELES CHARGERS – Some may look at this and say that the Raiders this high is just a fan pick…well to that I say…yeah probably.

5 – Baltimore over INDIANAPOLIS – This is a tough one to call but I think Lamar will want to have a huge game after the Pittsburgh loss.

4 – WASHINGTON over New York Giants – NFC East teams are playing each other – pick the home team and walk away.

3 – ATLANTA over Denver – This was a Super Bowl matchup years ago…that’s about all the excitement I can get for this one.

2 – BUFFALO over Seattle – Seahawk losses will come few and far between this year – the Bills seem to have enough to be one of those few.

1 – New England over NEW YORK JETS – I can actually see the Jets win this game…this is where the Patriots are right now.
