Last week, we finally had some upsets in the NFL, and 568 entrants were eliminated from the pool. I gave you an easy winner last week with the Chargers, who stomped out the Dolphins like everyone else has this year. But alas, this week the Dolphins are on bye, so I'm going to have to really put on my thinking cap to pick this week's winner.
Looking at the schedule I was inclined to pick the undefeated 49ers against the Cleveland Browns at home, but I just don't know which one of those teams is for real and which one’s a pretender yet, so I'm going to skip that one. After seeing I've already used some of the biggest favorites of the week, I decided to go out on a limb a little bit and pick the Minnesota Vikings.
There's been a lot of drama and shit talking regarding their terrible quarterback Kirk Cousins, but I think that it just motivated guys like Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen to really go off this week and put a whooping on a resurgent Giants team. Danny Dimes is looking good so far, but the Vikings defense is fierce and I think the Vikings will win this game. Plus, one Golden Tate minus one Saquon Barkley equals negative Saquon Barkley's. That pretty much sums up how I feel the Giants are performing this game.
On a final note, I would like to add a suggestion. Stefon Diggs should to request a trade destination like either the New England Patriots or the Kansas City Chiefs. My fantasy teams would really enjoy that. This article was written while driving to Sequoia National Park for a camping weekend so I hope it's plenty coherent and enjoyable enough and that the pic is a good one. Have a good weekend everybody.
Well, I was really pulling for the Redskins on Thursday night as nearly 2/3rds of the remaining players had selected the Minnesota Vikings. Having used the Vikings week 5 they were not an option for me this week. So I narrowed it down to another two big favorites that I like this week.
First is the Los Angeles Rams against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals look to be the weakest team the Rams will face the rest of the season, so this might be the best game to take the Rams had it not been in London. I have yet to see a team perform well across the pond, I think they legislate we kick more field goals or something when the NFL sends teams over. With the close call this week I am going to save a solid Rams team for another week.
So that led me to the other team that I ultimately picked, the Pittsburgh Steelers going up against the Miami Dolphins at home where they are two-touchdown favorites. Without Ben Roethlisberger this is the only game on the Steelers schedule that I would feel comfortable picking them. Now I wish I was getting Josh Rosen against this Steeler defense but I think they can get a few turnovers from old man Fitzpatrick regardless.
Welcome to the Fantasy Football Playoff Season!
For more than 50% of players, this means that your season is…well…over! Well that’s kind of a bummer!
Have no fear though, the Confidence Pool has no playoffs! Even if you are sitting in the bottom of your league long standings (which you shouldn’t be if you have been following along here!) you still have a chance at a payout every week!
Week 14 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – MINNESOTA over Detroit – Hopefully, for the Lions 2020 hopes, this will be the nail in the coffin that puts Matthew Stafford on the IR.
15 – PHILADELPHIA over New York Giants – Eli’s back! Should help Saquon be Saquon again…but it won’t be enough in Philly.
14 – GREEN BAY over Washington – It’s been a while since we have seen a big yardage day from Aaron Rodgers. So, my BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that AARON RODGERS WILL THROW FOR AT LEAST 400 YARDS THIS WEEK.
13 – HOUSTON over Denver – The Texans need to win to keep pace with the Colts and Titans. The Broncos need to focus on getting a high draft pick.
12 – NEW YORK JETS over Miami – It was only a month ago when the Dolphins beat the Jets for their first win, but this seems like a different Jets team.
11 –Pittsburgh over ARIZONA –This Steelers team seems like a good candidate for a Disney movie the way they still win after losing so much.
10 – OAKLAND over Tennessee – The Raiders need this game and they know it. Look for Derek Carr to bounce back in a big way.
9 – Dallas over CHICAGO – Can’t play the Lions every week, Bears!
8 – CLEVELAND over Cincinnati – Baker is hurt for the Browns but, I means, they’re playing the Bengals.
7 – ATLANTA over Carolina – If you listened to the DrinkFive podcast this week, you know my feelings on picking Falcons games.
6 – TAMPA BAY over Indianapolis – We’ll make this our Hunch of the Week.'
5 – Seattle over LOS ANGELES RAMS – These two teams have basically flipped roles from where they were last year.
4 – Kansas City over NEW ENGLAND – Remember last year’s AFC Championship game? So do the Chiefs!
3 – JACKSONVILLE over Los Angeles Chargers – This game will happen. Maybe it will be exciting – who knows?
2 – San Francisco over NEW ORLEANS – Is it me, or do the Saints lack the dominance factor when they play in the Dome lately?
1 – BUFFALO over Baltimore – This should be a good one and I think the Bills can find a way to pull out the upset.
