The number 13 has an odd aura around it.
The NFL seems to be doing its part to add to that way of thinking with some of the matchups in Week 13.
If you have been following along with me, you know that I am hesitant to have road teams too high and we have a few different games that could make me forget that rule. Thank God the Jags are in LA this week!
Not only that, but there are a few matchups that make us say “Who knew?” as you’ll see as you read on.
So let’s not waste any more time!
Week 13 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
14 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over Jacksonville – A home game against a Jaguars team that now also has to deal with Urban Meyer going back to college rumors is the cure for what ails the Rams.
13 – Tampa Bay over ATLANTA – So Cordarrelle Patterson is listed as a Safety for Atlanta – it’s like a baseball team down 15 in the 9th that brings the Left Fielder in to pitch…they’ve given up.
12 – Arizona over CHICAGO –The Cardinals being this high is contingent on Kyler and Hopkins suiting up. If they don’t, they still win but drop them down a few lines.
11 – Indianapolis over HOUSTON – I had faith in the Texans last week, that was my first mistake.
10 – KANSAS CITY over Denver – Who knew this game would have meaning towards the race for the AFC West crown?
9 – CINCINNATI over Los Angeles Chargers – The Bengals this season have been what the Chargers were supposed to be.
8 – Minnesota over DETROIT – I had a bold prediction early in the season that the Lions would have the worst record – but now…my BOLD PREDICTION is that THE LIONS WILL BECOME THE FIRST FRANCHISE WITH TWO WINLESS SEASONS.
7 – Dallas over NEW ORLEANS – Who knew that the Cowboys would need to win this game to keep the lock on the top of the division they used to have?
6 – MIAMI over New York Giants – The Dolphins defense is sure to keep Daniel Jones in his downward spiral this week.
5 – Philadelphia over NEW YORK JETS – Who knew these two teams played? … is what we will probably all be saying after this game ends.
4 – LAS VEGAS over Washington – The Raiders showed a little life last week. Maybe they can keep the last few seasons in the past and not fall apart in the second half of the season…but they still should be kept on a low line.
3 – BUFFALO over New England – Who knew the defending AFC runner ups would be on such a low number at home against a rookie quarterback and a team that is in rebuild mode?
2 – SEATTLE over San Francisco – Who knew it would be a tough decision to say the Seahawks would win this division matchup at home?
1 – PITTSBURGH over Baltimore – This just seems like one of those games the Steelers will win…no real scientific reasoning behind it.
Finally! They’re done!
We are heading into week 15 and FINALLY we are done with bye weeks! 16 games a week for the rest of the season! That means we’ll have more chance for points in our pools.
Of course…we do have to pick them correctly.
So let’s get to it!
Week 15 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – BUFFALO over Carolina – After two tough losses to top teams, the Bills need a home game against the Panthers.
15 – MIAMI over New York Jets – The Dolphins have quietly had a solid defense this year – not good news for the lowly Jets offense.
14 – Arizona over DETROIT – No Hopkins, no problem when you’re playing the Lions.
13 – TAMPA BAY over New Orleans – Looks like Breshard Perriman is ready for another late season run!
12 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over Seattle – It’s still odd to think that in this point of the season the Seahawks would be steadily in the top 10 of next year’s draft and…
11 – SAN FRANCISCO over Atlanta – …The 49ers would be right in the thick of the playoff hunt!
10 – Dallas over NEW YORK GIANTS – It’s good for the Cowboys to have several divisional matchups to end the season…but will it prepare them properly for the playoffs?
9 – PITTSBURGH over Tennessee – This will be a game the Titans miss Henry…and Brown…and really any sort of offense.
8 – CLEVELAND over Las Vegas – I don’t know what the over/under is for Myles Garrett sacks, but whatever it is, bet the over.
7 – Kansas City over LOS ANGELES CHARGERS – Yep, they’re back. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that after a slow start, THE CHIEFS WILL MAKE THEIR THIRD STRAIGHT SUPER BOWL.
6 – INDIANAPOLIS over New England – Not exactly a Brady/Manning matchup, but should still be an exciting game.
5 – Minnesota over CHICAGO – Hey top Bears execs, did you see the Jags just fired their coach in-season? It is possible to do.
4 – Cincinnati over DENVER – I’ve been big on the Bengals this year…they keep losing. I’ve been down on the Broncos this year…they keep winning. Take this pick with a grain of salt.
3 – Green Bay over BALTIMORE – If Lamar ends up playing for the Ravens, keep this game on this line but flip to a Ravens win.
2 – PHILADELPHIA over Washington – Though they put up a fight late last week, I’d say I’m off the Washington bandwagon.
1 – JACKSONVILLE over Houston – When you remove the biggest distraction of your organization, you get to win a game!
Extra football! We get extra football!!
Unfortunately, the extra week will include a decent amount of games where we will see starters for a quarter or two. Obviously this will add a degree of difficulty for us as we make our picks – the Packers are obviously far superior to the Lions…but are their backups?
Before we get into it, I just wanted to say thank you again for following along this year! I hope I helped you in your pools this year…and I’ll see you in September!
Week 18 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – BUFFALO over New York Jets – The Bills get lucky with a home game against the Jets when the division is on the line.
15 – TAMPA BAY over Carolina – >>Insert obligatory Antonio Brown comment here (though the less said about him the better)
14 – ARIZONA over Seattle – Think it’s safe to say this is an end of an era game for the Seahawks – welcome to rebuilding. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that BOTH RUSSELL WILSON AND PETE CARROLL WILL BE OUT OF SEATTLE THIS OFF-SEASON.
13 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over San Francisco – The 9ers have been playing pretty solid lately, unfortunately for them the Rams are playing for the division title.
12 – Indianapolis over JACKSONVILLE – Not only do the Colts get an easy path to clinch a playoff spot, they also get to leave the cold temps in Indy and head to Florida to do so!
11 – MINNESOTA over Chicago – Just one more game, Bears fans…just one more game.
10 – New England over Miami – After such a long winning streak, its odd to think that the Dolphins are far away from contending…but that’s what it seems like.
9 – Kansas City over DENVER – The Broncos have been getting a lot of “just wait ‘til next year” talk…I don’t see it.
8 – BALTIMORE over Pittsburgh – Yes there is a glimmer of playoff hope for the Steelers, but I think they left everything on the field last week.
7 – Tennessee over HOUSTON – This one may be one of those games we talked about depending on who Tennessee plays, but I still just cant see a Texans win.
6 – ATLANTA over New Orleans – David Banner mentioned watching the Falcons play the Saints in one of his songs…that’s about as excited as I can get on this one.
5 – PHILADELPHIA over Dallas – Just seems like another last week of the season game the Cowboys blow in Philly.
4 – Cincinnati over CLEVELAND – Really think the Bengals could play 22 backups and could beat the Browns right now.
3 – Los Angeles Chargers over LAS VEGAS – Yes, there is a part of me that is picking the Chargers thinking that it will help the Raiders win…seems to be how my Raider picks have been going lately.
2 – NEW YORK GIANTS over Washington – Normally, picking the Giants to win is a solid choice for the one-point line…except when…
1 – DETROIT over Green Bay – …you think the Lions will beat the Packers. Green Bay has already locked up home-field in the playoffs, so the Lions get to play backups.
