Football! Football! For the love of God after the week this country has had – FOOTBALL!!
Election Day has seemingly turned into Groundhog Day with no end in sight. Leave it to football to give us all an escape we so desperately need!
So let’s not waste any more time!
Week 9 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
14 – KANSAS CITY over Carolina – Looks like Run CMC might be back in the Panthers backfield…unfortunately it will be in a week where need more than just him.
13 – TENNESSEE over Chicago – The Titans took a step back in Cincinnati last week. They should have no problem using the Bears to reassert their dominant impression.
12 – Pittsburgh over DALLAS – This…this could get ugly!
11 – GREEN BAY over San Francisco – I was excited about the possibility of actually having a solid Thursday Night Football matchup – that was before we knew the 9ers would be playing their 4th string.
10 – TAMPA BAY over New Orleans – These are not the same teams that played each other in week 1.
9 – ARIZONA over Miami – The Dolphins defense used up their one good game a year card last week and won't be able to handle Kyler.
8 – Houston over JACKSONVILLE – Houston has been struggling but at least they get to play against Jacksonville QB…um…named…anyway Texans win.
7 – MINNESOTA over Detroit – As long as Kirk Cousins doesn’t have to win a game, the Vikings have a chance. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that KIRK COUSINS WILL NOT BE THE QUARTERBACK OF THE VIKIGNS NEXT YEAR.
6 – Las Vegas over LOS ANGELES CHARGERS – Some may look at this and say that the Raiders this high is just a fan pick…well to that I say…yeah probably.
5 – Baltimore over INDIANAPOLIS – This is a tough one to call but I think Lamar will want to have a huge game after the Pittsburgh loss.
4 – WASHINGTON over New York Giants – NFC East teams are playing each other – pick the home team and walk away.
3 – ATLANTA over Denver – This was a Super Bowl matchup years ago…that’s about all the excitement I can get for this one.
2 – BUFFALO over Seattle – Seahawk losses will come few and far between this year – the Bills seem to have enough to be one of those few.
1 – New England over NEW YORK JETS – I can actually see the Jets win this game…this is where the Patriots are right now.
I, for one, was close to just adding the Ravens/Steelers game to this week’s picks as well!
But, week 12 ended, and week 13 is right around the corner. It was a big plug to have football on a Wednesday afternoon. On the flip side though, it means we have to wait until Sunday for the next week to start…but then there will be an extra Monday game! And a Tuesday game!
At least…that’s how the schedule looks at this second! So before any other changes are made to the schedule, let’s get going!
Week 13 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
15 – KANSAS CITY over Denver – Well, at least the Broncos will have a quarterback this week!
14 – PITTSBURGH over Washington – The Steelers let an inferior Ravens teams hang around all game last week – I don’t see that happening again this week.
13 – GREEN BAY over Philadelphia – There is no reason to think the Packers won’t dominate this (sigh) potential playoff preview.
12 – SEATTLE over New York Giants – This matchup made me think and laugh a bit – whoever does get that elusive fifth win and take the NFC East crown – they will have to play a first-place schedule next season!
11 – BALTIMORE over Dallas – Lamar is back…Dak is not!
10 – MIAMI over Cincinnati – Unfortunately we don’t get the Tua/Burrow matchup we were hoping for. Lucky for the Dolphins they still have a little Fitzmagic in their back pocket.
9 – MINNESOTA over Jacksonville – A home game against the Jags is something Minnesota desperately needs.
8 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over New England – I’m not saying that the Chargers are a playoff level team, but they are a lot better than their three win record shows.
7 – Buffalo over SAN FRANCISCO – It would be easy to put the Bills on a higher line playing on a neutral field, but it’s not like the 9ers are unfamiliar with the Cardinals stadium.
6 – TENNESSEE over Cleveland – It will be fun to see Derrick Henry collide with Myles Garrett.
5 – New Orleans over ATLANTA – It’s still No Brees No Problem in New Orleans
4 – CHICAGO over Detroit – Sure the Lions can pull this road win out, but at this point, the Bears are due to end the losing skid.
3 – Indianapolis over HOUSTON – The thought of being out of the running for the AFC South Championship better be enough motivation for the Colts.
2 – ARIZONA over Los Angeles Rams – This is just going to be a fun game to watch!
1 – NEW YORK JETS over Las Vegas – I’m a Raiders fan…I know them…this is a game they lose. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is, simply put, THE JETS WILL WIN A GAME!
Even MORE so than that, it’s football stadium’s across the country filled with fans again!
2020 gave us one of the more memorable seasons to say the least, for all of the wrong reasons. But, let’s try and forget another Tom Brady Super Bowl (see what I did there?)
I don’t know about you, but seven months is LONG enough, let’s get back at it!
Week 1 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over Chicago – Dalton or Fields…Fields or Dalton…yeah…wouldn’t matter either way this week.
15 – TENNESSEE over Arizona – The Titans were sneaky dangerous last year…now with Julio in the mix they are just dangerous!
14 – TAMPA BAY over Dallas – The season starts where last season ended – in Tampa…with the Bucs winning.
13 – BUFFALO over Pittsburgh – A win over a solid Steelers team would further confirm the Bills’ spot towards the top of the league.
12 – KANSAS CITY over Cleveland – I see the Browns continuing to take steps in the right direction this season. Unfortunately they drew a road game against the Chiefs to start the season.
11 – San Francisco over DETROIT – My Week 1 Bold Prediction last year was that the Jaguars would only win one game…NAILED IT! In keep with the theme of predictable mediocrity, while it won’t be as bad, my BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE LIONS WILL END THE SEASON ‘ON THE CLOCK” WITH THE WORST RECORD IN THE LEAGUE.
10 – NEW ENGLAND over Miami – Foxboro hosts the first of what I’m sure will be many Saban Bowls with Mac vs Tua – Mac wins round 1 since he’s at home.
9 – Green Bay over NEW ORLEANS – The reigning MVP will have a lot to prove after a circus of an off-season.
8 – CAROLINA over New York Jets – Sam Darnold’s mentality is simple – “yeah it makes sense that the Jets ditched me for Zach Wilson…but at least now I have CMC behind me!”
7 – Seattle over INDIANAPOLIS – The pre-season was spent dealing with injuries for the Colts – no way they are ready for the Seahawks.
6 – Minnesota over CINCINNATI – Joe Burrow can be a top quarterback in this league…once the Bengals are actually able to protect him for more than 1.7 seconds in the pocket. Drafting a guy who can’t catch a ball because the NFL ball doesn’t have white lines like it does in college won’t help.
5 – Baltimore over LAS VEGAS – REALLY wanted to say the Raiders would win the first game in Vegas with fans…but I have a responsibility to be unbiased…unfortunately.
4 – ATLANTA over Philadelphia – Remember when this would have been an elite matchup? Yeah, not so much now.
3 – Jacksonville over HOUSTON – It was very thoughtful of the league to ease Trevor Lawrence into the league by making his first game against a team similar to one he would have gone against in a Clemson practice last year.
2 – NEW YORK GIANTS - Denver – This is a make or break year for Daniel Jones – I think he makes it.
1 – WASHINGTON over Los Angeles Chargers – Dear Lord I can’t wait to not have to say Washington Football Team!
I know what you are thinking, why am I bothering this week?
Why bother posting something this week since the NFL is taking a week off?
I completely understand why you would think that – it doesn’t really seem like the NFL will be playing any games this weekend.
Actually though, when I looked into it a little deeper, while the Raiders bye week does seem like no other game will happen, there will be a near-full slate of games, You’ll just have to wait an additional seven days to see the silver and black again.
I’m so sorry! BUT, we move on!
Week 8 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
15 – BUFFALO over Miami – Tua says that he is confident that he is the Dolphins number one choice for their QB…yeah I don’t believe it either.
14 – Los Angeles Rams over HOUSTON – Brandin Cooks literally called out the BS of the Texans organization this week – not a good mindset to have when the Rams come to town.
13 – KANSAS CITY over New York Giants – OK, if the Chiefs can’t pull a Monday Night home win over the Giants off, then we can officially write them off this season.
12 – Cincinnati over NEW YORK JETS – The Bengals are legit – seems like this season they will have the rest of the AFC North Chase-ing them (see what I did there?)
11 – CLEVELAND over Pittsburgh – In their first meeting since last season’s playoff upset, it’s hard to see the outcome being any different.
10 – LOS ANGELES CHARGERS over New England – Last week might have been the Mac Jones coming out party, but it won’t be enough in LA.
9 – ARIZONA over Green Bay – Arguably the best game of the Thursday Night schedule – unfortunately COVID has made it so Aaron Rodgers won’t be able to throw the ball to anybody.
8 – San Francisco over CHICAGO – Even with Matt Nagy off of the sidelines, it’s hard to pick the Bears.
7 – ATLANTA over Carolina – It seems as though the real Sam Darnold has indeed stood up.
6 – SEATTLE over Jacksonville – Geno Smith has come so close in the last two weeks, a home game against the Jags should be enough to get him over the hump.
5 – Tampa Bay over NEW ORLEANS – The Bucs stumbled in New Orleans last season and I was thinking about picking the upset here, but then remembered that Jameis Winston is not Drew Brees.
4 – Washington over DENVER – Stop me if you’ve heard this, but the Broncos aren’t good! My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is AFTER A 3-0 START, THE BRONCOS WILL FINISH WITH A TOP 5 PICK IN THE DRAFT NEXT YEAR.
3 – Philadelphia over DETROIT – It would make sense to think the Lions will get their first win here, but then you have to remember…Lions gonna Lions.
2 – INDIANAPOLIS over Tennessee – This just seems like a cool off game for the Titans after beating the Chiefs and Bills the last two weeks.
1 – MINNESOTA over Dallas – Apparently Dak’s health a question mark, which should be the opening the Vikings need.
