Another week in the books and I thought it would be fun this week to post some classic memes that at one time were true but now seem like possible jokes of the past. Dallas may get over the 8-8 slump they have been in the last 3 seasons.... Philip Rivers actually looks like a fantasy stud again.... Cleveland is looking good with a back-up.... and Detroit is still in first (still without a kicker as well). It has been a fun season thus far (minus some very bad off the field issues) and I don't imagine it slowing down. Without further ado...
These Bengals will not only win the division this year but I see them going on a playoff run. Andy may be worth the money after all....
I'm pretty sure Rivers can put the marker down now. No equations needed to figure out what went wrong, these Chargers look set to make a run for the division as well as possibly more.
This one makes me laugh every time I read it. Now I don't see the browns doing much in any kind of playoff discussions but I am impressed with the way they have played as of late.
So,last week was pretty rough thanks to two RB dud performances from both Forsett and Hyde as well as an Eifert goose egg; but we will move on to bigger and better things in week 4. This week there are a lot of value plays due to injured starters, which we will plug in to be able to afford some top tier talent. Good luck this week gamblers!
QB - Andy Dalton, CIN - $7,600 vs. KC: Coming off 383 yard 3 TD performance, Dalton gets now gets a home game against a Chiefs defense that has given up the most fantasy points to opposing QB's thus far this year. Expect Dalton to continue to roll.
RB - Jamaal Charles, KC - $8,700 vs. CIN: Charles has been consistently putting up points all season, never recording less than 16 in a game - mostly due to the large amount of red zone touches he receives. Look for the Chiefs to lean heavily on their best player again this week.
RB - Karlos Williams, BUF - $6,300 vs. NYG: LeSean McCoy has been ruled out this week with a hamstring injury which means Karlos Williams will get every down back duties. Perfect play this week for high volume at a low price tag.
WR - A.J. Green, CIN - $8,400 vs. KC: Green erupted in week 3 posting 227 yards and 2 TDs against the Ravens. He gets an even better matchup this week against a shaky KC pass defense and is a great combo play to go with Dalton.
WR - Larry Fitzgerald, ARI - $7,400 vs. STL: Fitzgerald has had his way with teams lately, scoring 5 TDs over the past 2 games. A bit of a tougher matchup this week with a home matchup against the Rams, but I expect another strong performance.
WR - James Jones, GB - $6,000 at SF: It looks like Davante Adams will miss this week after reinjuring his ankle, which should mean an expanded role for Jones. Great matchup this week as SF has been giving up the 5th most fantasy points to opposing WRs this year.
TE - Greg Olsen, CAR - $6,300 at TB: The Panthers don't seem to have any other weapon in their passing game this year besides Olsen, so he should be a legitimate play almost every week. With Jonathan Stewart questionable this week it could mean even more targets going Olsen's way.
K - Robbie Gould, CHI - $4,600 vs. OAK: Looking for a bounce back game for Gould after the Bears were shut out in Seattle. Forte should at least be able to move the team into field goal range a few times at home against the Raiders.
DEF - Broncos, DEN - $4,700 vs. MIN: Rolling with the defense that is averaging the most fantasy points per game.
We're at the quarter point of the fantasy football season, assuming (and let's do just that) you will make the championship. It's what we're all here for, anyways. This week, Carolina, Miami, New York (Jets) and Minnesota are on bye, so at least you get Gronk back, but you might lose AP. And if you do have both of those guys on the same team, then you're probably doing just fine.
Andy Dalton has been on fire all year, scoring the second most points among all QB's. Make sure to keep him in your lineup, despite his ECR of 15. Giovani Bernard is still getting more touches per game than Jeremy Hill, so while he may be making his way out of the doghouse, Bernard is still a solid every week RB2/Flex play. Arian Foster's premier was less than inspiring, so while you want to dial him up Thursday night, do it as a flex play and not RB1/2. The QB situation in Houston is just too bad to rely on their defense heavily.
Martavis Bryant returns to the Steelers lineup, and despite missing big Ben, he should still fill in just fine as a WR3. Brandin Cooks is a guy who you might want to stay away from, as Willie Snead seems to be Brees's new favorite target. Make sure to check out the waiver picks for Week 5 to keep your team from accumulating too much dead weight!
Well we are 5 weeks into gambling season, and results have been bleak. All we can do is forget the past and use that second mortgage wisely going forward to hit the jackpot! This week we are going with a QB/WR stack with two of the top dogs this year, making a play based on historical precedence and otherwise taking value where available. Good luck Gamblers!
QB - Andy Dalton, CIN - $7,600 at BUF: Dalton is averaging over 300 yards and 2 TDs per game so far this year and he is matched up against one of the worst pass defenses in the league in week 6. Great play for a decent price.
RB - Arian Foster, HOU - $8,500 at JAC: It looks like Foster is finally healthy and gets a tasty match up against a Jaguars team that just allowed Doug Martin to run all over them while scoring 3 TDs in the process.
RB - LeGarrette Blount, NE - $6,500 at IND: Looking back on recent Patriots and Colts games there seems to be one constant and that is Blount putting up monster performances. The stars seem aligned on this one as Dion Lewis popped up on the injury report mid-week and is questionable to play which would put Blount in line for more touches.
WR - A.J. Green, CIN - $8,100 at BUF: Stack play with Dalton to raise the point ceiling using one of the best receivers in the league.
WR - Emmanuel Sanders, DEN - $7,900 at CLE: Not sure what's going on with the Denver offense, but with Demaryius Thomas bunged up and a non-existent running game I like the odds of Sanders coming away with a big game.
WR - Kendall Wright, TEN - $5,800 vs. MIA: Wright recently expressed frustration with his involvement in the offense which should be well received as he is the best play maker they have. Look for big play potential here as the Dolphins are allowing the 4th worst average yards per reception in the league.
TE - Antonio Gates, SD - $5,500 at GB: Gates was dominant in his first game back from suspension posting over 90 yards and 2 TDs. San Diego will need to score to keep up with the Packers which means he should get plenty of opportunity to score.
K - Stephen Gostkowski, NE - $5,100 at IND: Rolling with the kicker that scores the most points week in and week out.
DEF - Broncos, DEN - $5,000 at CLE: Decent match up for a white hot defense.
