Thank you to the Bengals and Redskins for teaching us another valuable confidence pool lesson last week! While neither of the team lost, everyone else does! With the tie, since no team won, nobody gets any points for that game.
Sure we had to sit through 75 minutes of two field goals apiece to receive this lesson – but a lesson nonetheless!
Sound familiar? It was the exact same thing that I said last week. Consecutive weeks with a tie (with almost a second tie last week) don’t deserve new material!
Week 9 – HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN ALL CAPS)
13 – KANSAS CITY over Jacksonville – Remember how we all said that the Jaguars were ready to make a run after their off-season? Well, maybe next year.
12 – Dallas over CLEVELAND – Last week’s home game against the Jets was the Browns chance. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE BROWNS WILL FINISH THE SEASON WINLESS.
11 – MINNESOTA over Detroit – The Vikings have shown some vulnerability after their undefeated start. They could use a home game against the struggling Lions.
10 – GREEN BAY over Indianapolis – Even in defeat the Packers are showing us that they are still NFC contenders.
9 – SEATTLE over Buffalo – New England exposed so much about the Bills last week. Seattle should be able to take advantage of that as well.
8 – NEW YORK GIANTS over Philadelphia – Remember when the Eagles were undefeated and a certain writer predicted that the league was about to figure out Carson Wentz? Well I do!
7 – New Orleans over SAN FRANCISCO – Remember when this was an exciting playoff game? Now, not so much.
6 – Carolina over LOS ANGELES – Remember when…ok, can’t really do a “remember when” with a team in a new city.
5 – Atlanta over TAMPA BAY – The week starts off with a solid NFC South matchup. The Falcons could put a strangle hold on the division with a road win here.
4 – MIAMI over New York Jets – Miami is the home team so they get to win this one.
3 – OAKLAND over Denver – The last game the Broncos lost last season before winning the Super Bowl was against the Raiders…just saying.
2 – BALTIMORE over Pittsburgh – If Roethlisberger ends up playing, keep this game on the 2-point line but switch to a Steelers win.
1 – Tennessee over SAN DIEGO – The Titans may end up being what divisional foe Jacksonville was supposed to be this year – and they didn’t have to waste a ton of money in the off-season to do it.
We are now at double digit weeks in the 2016 season. Now we should have a strong idea as to what these teams are really made of.
The Raiders are legit this year and apparently the Panthers are not. The Lions are always still in the game and the Browns, well, at least they are able to make it to the stadium to play the game.
Week 10 – HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN ALL CAPS)
14 – ARIZONA over San Francisco – This is a lot more of having no confidence in the 9ers on the road than having confidence in the Cardinals. That will be the theme for a lot of games this week.
13 – NEW ENGLAND over Seattle – A rematch from the Super Bowl of a few years ago and the Seahawks don’t even have Marshawn Lynch to not hand the ball off to this time.
12 – BALTIMORE over Cleveland – The Ravens showed signs of life against the Steelers last week. Now they get an extra bye week.
11 – TAMPA BAY over Chicago – The Ex-Lovie Bowl will go to the home team.
10 – NEW YORK JETS over Los Angeles – Having no confidence in the Rams rather than confidence in the Jets.
9 – Green Bay over TENNESSEE – Aaron Rodgers’ post-game rant last week had a bit of a R-E-L-A-X feel to it.
8 – WASHINGTON over Minnesota – Minnesota has hit a big wall. The way they lost last week to the Lions may have been too deflating to come back from.
7 – NEW YORK GIANTS over Cincinnati – The Giants have looked impressive as of late. I don’t think the Bengals have enough to stop their momentum on Monday Night.
6 – Atlanta over PHILADELPHIA – Carson Wentz could be a Matt Ryan at some point. But Matt Ryan is a Matt Ryan right now.
5 – Kansas City over CAROLINA – Carolina won’t get to play the Rams every week. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that AFTER MAKING THE SUPER BOWL, THE PANTHERS WILL FINISH LAST IN THE NFC SOUTH.
4 – Denver over NEW ORLEANS – The Broncos need this road win to keep up with the Raiders and Chiefs.
3 – SAN DIEGO over Miami – The AFC West’s “other” team hasn’t really played like an “other” team as of late.
2 – PITTSBURGH over Dallas – This could be the game of the week. The Cowboys streak could come to an end in the Steel City.
1 – JACKSONVILLE over Houston – After being one of the off-season winners, the Jags find themselves back in the “put them on the one-point line if you think they will win” category.
Welcome to week 11! Week 10 was pretty solid for us. Let’s keep that momentum going and get that elusive perfect score this week!
Week 11 – HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN ALL CAPS)
14 – DALLAS over Baltimore – The Cowboys are scary good! Should be another easy win over another AFC North opponent for the Boys.
13 – NEW YORK GIANTS over Chicago – The NFC East has quietly become one of the best divisions in the league. Contrarily, the Bears have very loudly been one of the worst teams in the league this year.
12 – KANSAS CITY over Tampa Bay – The Chiefs are the hottest team in the league. It will take a lot more than a visiting Tampa team to cool them down.
11 – New England over SAN FRANCISCO – It’s bad enough that the 9ers have to play New England…but after a Patriot loss to boot? Poor guys!
10 – OAKLAND over Houston – The Raiders kind of get gipped with one of their home games being played in Mexico City. At least they had a bye week to prepare for a tough Texan team.
9 – Pittsburgh over CLEVELAND – After the last minute loss to Dallas, the Steelers will have a lot of aggression to take out on the leagues AAA affiliate.
8 – DETROIT over Jacksonville – The Lions are in first place. Just let that sink in. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE LIONS WILL WIN THE NFC NORTH.
7 – SEATTLE over Philadelphia – Seattle showed a national audience last week that they are still a force to be reckoned with.
6 – CAROLINA over New Orleans – Remember when this game would have been a definite game of the week?
5 – WASHINGTON over Green Bay – The Packers…uh…EESH!
4 – INDIANAPOLIS over Tennessee – Are the Titans for real? This may end up being a speed bump for Tennessee but they look like a team that can contend in a mediocre AFC South.
3 – CINCINNATI over Buffalo – Cincinnati is running out of time. They need to stack up W’s quick to have any playoff chance.
2 – Arizona over MINNESOTA – After the first quarter of the season, this was set to be a great game. Now, well, its still on the schedule.
1 – LOS ANGELES over Miami – The Rams are proud members of the “If you think they’ll win, keep them on the one-point line” club!
If you know me, you know that I’m a big Raiders fan. Thinking about it in terms of a confidence pool, this Raiders team has to be the worst team for a confidence pool!
Yes the Raiders are very unexpectedly 9-2 and towards the top of most power rankings out there. But they haven’t had too many wins that make you that confident about them in the next game.
It’s an anomaly for sure. But hey, like the old man said, JUST WIN BABY!
Week 13 – HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN ALL CAPS)
15 – NEW ENGLAND over Los Angeles – Welcome to the NFL Jared Goff! Now go play the Patriots.
14 – Dallas over MINNESOTA – If the Cowboys are going to lose on the road, it won’t be against a depleted Viking team.
13 – OAKLAND over Buffalo – If you have a legitimate argument as to why Derek Carr is NOT the MVP this season I would love to hear it.
12 – GREEN BAY over Houston – The Pack is back! My BOLD PREDICTION is that THE PACKERS WILL COME BACK AND WIN THE NFC NORTH.
11 – NEW ORLEANS over Detroit – Detroit has had a better than expected year but I don’t see them outscoring the Saints offense.
10 – SEATTLE over Carolina – After the embarrassment of only putting up 5 points in Tampa last week, Seattle will have something to prove.
9 – PITTSBURGH over New York Giants – The Steelers will need this playoff level win to get them ready for a playoff push.
8 – ARIZONA over Washington – I honestly don’t know why the Redskins are a winning team.
7 – Denver over JACKSONVILLE – In the off-season, this was supposed to be a good game. Then the Jags happened.
6 – Indianapolis over NEW YORK JETS – If Andrew Luck doesn’t play in this one, put the Jets on a very low number line.
5 – CINCINNATI over Philadelphia – Andy Dalton meets his will be unsuccessful ginger understudy.
4 – BALTIMORE over Miami – Surprisingly this is a big game in the AFC playoff picture. The home team gets the nod on this one.
3 – ATLANTA over Kansas City – We all know my track record on Falcons games.
2 – Tampa Bay over SAN DIEGO – After dominating Seattle last week, Tampa looks determined to sneak into the playoffs.
1 – San Francisco over CHICAGO – Fear not, Bears fans. A loss hear clears the way to the second pick in the draft!
