We finally made it to Week 1! Football starts this week with the Texans @ Chiefs on Thursday night and I will be just one of millions waiting for the kickoff - beer in hand - that signals the start of the fantasy football season. This is going to be a tricky one, with flexible COVID-19 IR slots and constant testing at the forefront of the discussion, but that's all the more reason to be deep in research and statistics as we start the season. Best of luck to you all!

So when the dust clears from Week 1 of the fantasy football season (Tuesday morning, bright & early), we're left to clear out the injured & usurped players and find some order in the chaos of early season decisions. Perhaps the most important thing to keep in mind here is that it will still take some time for offenses to gel this year and so player performances may be more variable than usual. You may want to wait a few weeks before dumping someone just because he had a disappointing amount of targets in the opener.
Guys that jump out to me this week to overperform expectations: Phillip Rivers, David Montgomery, Parris Campbell, Jimmy Graham, and Arizona Cardinals (DST).

You saw it out there - it was a massacre. Weeks like this happen from time to time during an NFL season, but the sheer number of injuries to prominent fantasy players in one week was enough to make team manager cry. And I'm betting quite a few people out there that had guys like Saquon Barkley and Christian McCaffrey drowned their fantasy football sorrows with a few glasses of whiskey. Regardless, the show must go on and I'm here to provide a guide to those players that you may want to get on your active roster in a hurry. Here's hoping that week 3 doesn't put even more people on the injured reserve!
Guys that jump out to me this week to overperform expectations: Matt Ryan, Michael Gallup, A.J. Green, Chris Herndon, Dalton Schultz, and the Arizona Cardinals (DST).

One more week in the books and we had some predictable outcomes - most notably on Monday Night Football with the Chiefs just tearing it up offensively. Hello, Patrick Mahomes! A few rookie wide receiver breakouts (here's looking at you, Justin Jefferson), and injuries are important to keep in mind as we go through another cycle of waiver wire pickups and lineups being set for Week 4. Guys that jump out to me this week to overperform expectations: Drew Brees, Joe Mixon, Kenny Golladay, Julian Edelman, Tyler Eifert, and New Orleans (DST).
