Fantasy football strategy, rankings, and podcasts

Week 10 has Josh Allen as the QB1, like usual. But it still remains to be seen whether or not he is at full speed with the elbow injury he sustained toward the end of the game last week. What is more interesting is how some of the lesser known names have risen in the rankings throughout the season so far - like Geno Smith (QB6), Rachaad White (RB36), Terrace Marshall Jr. (WR39), etc. As always, the individual matchups and player trends will determine your success as much as any ranking possibly can - but I do factor these items into the rankings as much as possible. With the trade deadline recently passed, quite a few players have changed teams and future outlooks. Some are flex-worthy like Nyheim Hines moving to Buffalo, while some others like T.J. Hockenson are every-week starters that could literally change the postseason fate of the Vikings team that acquired him. How will these and other players perform in the weeks ahead? Sometimes it's important to take a step back and gain a little perspective. Reaching week 8 is a milestone in the fantasy football season, and indicates that we are halfway through the year. Although most leagues will run through week 17, there is precious little time for fantasy team managers to climb back up the standings at this point if they are below .500. Injuries have been a huge determining factor over the past few weeks, and propelled some players like Kenneth Walker III into top waiver pickups or quick promotions from the bench to the starting lineup. Looking forward, remember that historically more running backs are injured over the middle of the season than wide receivers, and consider picking up more depth at that position.
