Fantasy football strategy, rankings, and podcasts

Wow, that was a scorcher on Monday Night Football with Cam Newton just running some scores up - hope you escaped the week without getting burned too badly! We're looking into Week 11 with a positive outlook on several teams and players and there are some openings for guys that were deeper on the depth chart. Make sure to be scooping up guys like Greg Olsen and Danny Woodhead if they are still available on the wire. Players that should outperform expectations this week include: Blake Bortles, Chris Thompson, Jamaal Williams, Samaje Perine, Emmanuel Sanders, Robert Woods, and Austin Hooper. Good luck!

It was definitely one of the most entertaining Monday Night Football games that I've seen in a while, with the Russell Wilson and the Seahawks struggling to keep up offensively with the Falcons throughout the game, and almost coming through at the very end with a Blair Walsh field goal to send it to overtime. Looks like Seattle's defensive woes are not going to bode well going into the rest of the season's match-ups - after what should not be a difficult win against the 49ers this week they have some tough games ahead against the Eagles, Jaguars, Rams, and Cowboys (with Zeke returning). Anyway, onto the rankings for Week 12 and to pick a few players out of the bunch that I think will outperform expectations: Alex Smith, Samaje Perine, Joe Mixon, Devin Funchess, Sammy Watkins, Corey Davis, and C.J. The first week of the fantasy playoffs is here (for the majority of leagues, anyway), and there are already quite a few difficult decisions to make for fantasy team managers. Who can fill in for Gronkowski now that he'll be suspended for a week? What do you do with a QB that has a bad defensive match-up? I hope to answer some of these with a no-nonsense ranking of most, if not all, of the players that you'll need to choose from for this week's upcoming football festivities. Recommended plays include: Matt Ryan, Jamaal Williams, Frank Gore, C.J. Anderson, Michael Crabtree, Jamison Crowder, and Stephen Anderson. Pay particularly close attention to that last one, because the tight end position has been pretty flat except for a few bright spots this year and he's been thrust into a good opportunity going forward.
