10/21/14, Wow.. the Jaguars can win, after all!

Welcome to week 8! We're more than halfway through the fantasy regular season and it's been an awesome ride, as is tradition. We started out the show going over some of the headlines from last week - check out my breakdown of Week 7.

We started a new segment where we will be betting on trends. Each week, we will spot a few trends and decide if the trends will keep going, or if the player will buck the trend. We will bet 5 drinks on each outcome. This week our results are: Denard Robinson - continue trending up; Zac Stacy - Jason says he'll score over 8, Dave says he'll trend down; Jay Cutler - continue trending down, less than 20 pts for sure; Allen Robinson - continues to trend up, around 12 pts again; Justin Hunter - continues to trend down; Travis Kelce - continues to trend down, less than 6 points; New England D/ST - Dave says 10 or more points, Jason says they will score less.

We also fielded questions from the peanut gallery this week to help you with waiver wire and start/sit decisions. 12/09/14, Week 15 - In Which Jonas Gray Has Disappeared

Welcome to another installment of the drinkfive Podcast. We’re knee deep in fantasy football playoffs, which is just fine with us! We broke down some of the fun stuff from week 14 before diving into our weekly segment, the trends. As always, we started it by drinking for the trends that we didn’t predict correctly last week. We also looked more into the trends themselves and what we should really be getting out of them.

For Week 15, we said that Matt Ryan will continue his upward trend and reach or exceed his line of 21 points against the Steelers. We looked a Demaryius Thomas and the Broncos and set his line at 14. Dave said he’d stick with the trend and go under, I said he’d break it and go over 14. Malcolm Floyd has been talked about a bunch lately and is trending up. Dave said he’d continue that and score over 8.5, I said he’d struggle and go under. Joquie Bell’s line was set at only 12 points and both of us went over for his matchup this week against the Vikings. Shane Vereen has been struggling and we both said that he would stay under 8 points against the Dolphins. Finally, we looked at Denard Robinson’s downward trend. This is now irrelevant as he’s on the IR. Drink five anyways!

To wrap up the show, we discussed waiver pickups for this week. Coming in the following weeks, we will gather all of the trend data, finish looking at where the top 10 ADP/finishing RB’s and WR’s are and have more guests!

11/26/14, Trends and Top Tens in Week 13

This week we had a big show, jam packed with good info. To start off, we changed it up and drank wine. No, no, that would never happen on this show. We did start right off with this weeks' waiver pickups. We then drank for last week's trends and predicted some new ones.

Ryan Tannehill has been trending up and Dave and I both think that he will score over 20 points this week. John Brown now has the official drinkfive.com fantasy fool's gold stamp - both of us think he will stay under 8 points. LeSean McCoy is heading up, we both say he'll score over 12 points. Dave added a bet for next week's beers - McCoy points for Jason vs Jordan Matthews points for Dave. Good luck buddy! Next is Frank Gore who has really been struggling. Dave and I both say that he'll score under 8.5 points. Dave went a step further saying that he'll never score over 12 points in his life again. Finally, Tim Wright is the biggest pickup of the week for Tight Ends, according to Yahoo stats. We both think he's fool's gold, Dave predicts, rather specifically, that he will be between 6.1 and 8 points, and I am going to go under 6.1.

To wrap up the show, we did the third quarter check in on the top 10 WR's and RB's. We compare them to their ADP, and then look at where the top 10 ADP wound up. After week 4 and 8, it looked like the WR's were a better value at the top of the draft. This time around, the RB's look way more consistent. 11/18/14, Approaching the Playoffs, Fantasy Trends

This week on the show, we enjoyed some fine scotch. Glenlivet 12 year to be exact, and a fine scotch it is. We started right into grading last week's trend predictions. Dave and I assigned plenty of drinks to the audience, and we drank a few for ourselves as well. On to this week's predictions:

Matt Stafford has been trending down, Dave and I split on him with Dave saying he'll go over 18 and I say he'll go under. Golden Tate's trend has mirrored Stafford's in many ways, and we've split on this player just like before. Dave says Tate will go over 11 and I say he'll stay under 11 points.  Torrey Smith is the first player we agree on, both of us saying he'll go over 10 points. Andre Ellington was another split, Dave betting on the TD and going over 11, while I stay under 11 points. Mark Ingram we agreed on, both of us saying he'll stay under 14 points. Martellus Bennett is another guy who we think will continue his down trend, staying under 7 points.
