OK…so…about last week…
Well, now seems like a good idea to remind everyone that most season-long pools will allow you to remove your lowest scoring week from the total amount.
I didn’t really think we would have to look into that feature less than a quarter of the way into the season…but here we are!
Ah well, time to get back on that horse!
Week 4 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – SAN FRANCISCO over New England – The 9ers could use a bit of a break to rest some injuries – playing the Patriots will provide that.
15 – HOUSTON over Jacksonville – Change is coming in Florida. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that DOUG PEDERSON WILL BE THE FIRST COACH FIRED THIS YEAR.
14 – NEW YORK JETS over Denver – The Broncos used up all of there energy in Tampa last week.
13 – Kansas City over LOS ANGELES CHARGERS – The Chiefs are playing a game against a divisional opponent – we all know how this goes.
12 – DETROIT over Seattle – Thank God there are two Monday Night Games again this week …
11 – MIAMI over Tennessee – …because this would have been our only option…eesh!
10 – INDIANAPOLIS over Pittsburgh – It’s only a matter of time that the undefeated stretch for the Steelers ends…and that time is about noon central time on Sunday.
9 – BALTIMORE over Buffalo – This game being this high on our list just shows how close the games are going to be this week.
8 – CHICAGO over Los Angeles Rams – Imagine what Caleb Williams could do with a line that could even block a phone call.
7 – TAMPA BAY over Philadelphia – Look for the Bucs to bounce back after last week’s drubbing.
6 – ARIZONA over Washington – Jayden vs Kyler just seems like it will be fun to watch.
5 – ATLANTA over New Orleans – Hopefully the Falcons will have a new set of refs for this game.
4 – Minnesota over GREEN BAY – Who knew this would be an NFC North matchup to be excited about?
3 – CAROLINA over Cincinnati – Andy Dalton for MVP?
2 – Cleveland over LAS VEGAS - If you lose at home to the Panthers, you don’t get to win this week.
1 – NEW YORK GIANTS over Dallas – Just seems like one of the games that Daniel Jones’ could take over…but keep it on the one-point line
Oh this is gonna be an interesting week for sure.
Looking down the list of games and there aren’t too many, no-brainers! The Bengals are sitting on the second highest line this week … … … need I say more?? So this could be a make or break week for us.
No point in delaying the inevitable any longer, let’s get going!
Week 9 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
15 – BALTIMORE over Denver – The Broncos will be crashing back down to reality on this one … … … hard!
14 – CINCINNATI over Las Vegas – It’s fun being a Raiders fan… it really is…
13 – MINNESOTA over Indianapolis – This probably would’ve been on the top line if the Colts didn’t make a quarterback change.
12 – BUFFALO over Miami – The inevitable realization of the Dolphin’s offense that Tua is back does make me a bit hesitant on this one.
11 – PHILADELPHIA over Jacksonville – It’s weird to have a game this high when I think they’ll win just because it’s a home game.
10 – SEATTLE over Los Angeles Rams – I feel like last week’s drubbing by Buffalo is the wake up Seattle needs in the apparently winable NFC West .
9 – Washington over NEW YORK GIANTS – Safe to say the Commanders are riding high after last week.
8 – KANSAS CITY over Tampa Bay – I would have loved to see this game if the Bucs had a full offense.
7 – Chicago over ARIZONA – A bounce back here after last week’s ending would show us how Caleb Williams can handle the NFL life.
6 – ATLANTA over Dallas – I see big things for Kirk Cousins in this one. My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that KIRK COUSINS WILL THROW FOR AT LEAST 450 YARDS AND THREE TDs THIS WEEK.
5 – Los Angeles Chargers over CLEVELAND – I feel like the Browns got their one unexpected win of the season last week.
4 – Houston over NEW YORK JETS – To put it terms New York fans will understand – Houston is like Aaron Judge in the regular season, the Jets are Aaron Judge in the post season.
3 – GREEN BAY over Detroit – This is contingent on Jordan Love playing. Switch to the Lions if he doesn’t…or if you think he’ll be knocked out in the middle of the game again.
2 – New Orleans over CAROLINA – I want to, but its just hard to pick the Panthers in any situation.
1 – New England over TENNESSEE – Titans fans will watch Drake Maye and think about what should have been with Will Levis.
We’re back to full strength!
Well, at least for one week.
Once again all 32 teams will be playing this week. Thanks to a full day’s worth of football action on Thursday, and even a Black Friday game!!, all teams will need to be on duty on Sunday! With that comes the chance for more points so let’s cushion our lead in the season long pools!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! To take a short break from the football mentality, I do want to let you know that I am thankful to those that follow along with me and read my stuff – thank you!
OK…back to FOOTBALL!
Week 13 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – WASHINGTON over Tennessee – Safe to say the Commanders now know how to handle inferior opponents at home.
15 – KANSAS CITY over Las Vegas – Remember when the Raiders won in KC last Christmas?? Yeah, let’s just keep remembering that.
14 – DETROIT over Chicago – Bears fans, be thankful that this is the early game and you’ll still have plenty of Thanksgiving to enjoy after.
13 – DENVER over Cleveland – It still just doesn’t feel right having this much faith in the Broncos.
12 – GREEN BAY over Miami – Look for Josh Jacobs to get a lot of touches to help calm the Dolphins offense down.
11 – MINNESOTA over Arizona – Not even having Daniel Jones’ on your roster could stop the Vikings this week.
10 – BUFFALO over San Francisco – SNOW GAME!!!!
9 – Houston over JACKSONVILLE – Something tells me this could be a trap for the Texans
8 – Los Angeles Rams over NEW ORLEANS – The Rams are hot and healthy at the right time! My BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE RAMS WILL WIN THE NFC WEST.
7 – BALTIMORE over Philadelphia – The Ravens reminded the league just who they are with last week’s domination against the Chargers …
6 – ATLANTA over Los Angeles Chargers – …and the Chargers will still be reeling from it.
5 – Indianapolis over NEW ENGLAND – Drake Maye is close, but not there just yet.
4 – Pittsburgh over CINCINNATI – I have faith in the Bengals scoring a lot of points, and giving up more.
3 – CAROLINA over Tampa Bay – What a weird week when a Panthers win is at number 3 …
2 – NEW YORK JETS over Seattle – …oh, its because the Jets could win
1 – DALLAS over New York Giants – The NFL doing its part to aid in the nations inevitable food coma on Thanksgiving afternoon!
To say this has been a year of uncertainty is an understatement.
So many injuries, coaching changes, player issues shaped this season into pure unpredictability. So we’re are gonna end the year with a toss up of our own. Winners will be picked like normal, but the points list will be based on when the games are played – should add an additional degree of interest to the season finale in Detroit Sunday Night!
Before we get into the games, I just wanted to say thank you again for following along this year! I hope I helped you in your pools this year…and I’ll see you in September!
Week 18 – HERE WE GO!!!!
(HOME TEAM IN CAPS)
16 – DETROIT over Minnesota – Ford Field will be rocking louder than it was in the playoffs last year
15 – Los Angeles Chargers over LAS VEGAS – Change is coming for the Raiders … hopefully
14 – LOS ANGELES RAMS over Seattle – The Rams should easily lock up the 3 seed by just keeping on doing what they’ve been doing
13 – DENVER over Kansas City – The Broncos will be taking full advantage of a depleted Chiefs roster
12 – ARIZONA over San Francisco – This could be the battle for the division next season as long as CMC stays FAR away from the Madden cover!
11 – NEW YORK JETS over Miami - The Dolphins are playing for their playoff lives, but this just seems like a game the Jets squeak out.
10 - GREEN BAY over Chicago – Its over, Bears fans … … … it’s over!
9 – TAMPA BAY over New Orleans – Mike Evans is going to get PAID while leading the Bucs to the division title.
8 – PHILADELPHIA over New York Giants – The Eagles have nothing to play for … but the Giants just can’t play.
7 – ATLANTA over Carolina – They’ll miss out this year but my BOLD PREDICTION for this week is that THE FALCONS WILL FINISH IN THE TOP 2 OF THE NFC NEXT YEAR
6 – Washington over DALLAS – It will be interesting to see what happens in Jerry World this off-season…if anything.
5 – INDIANAPOLIS over Jacksonville – This game will happen … so there
4 – NEW ENGLAND over Buffalo – Like the Broncos, the Pats will benefit from playing a powerhouse with nothing to play for
3 – TENNESSEE over Houston – Another example of a bad team being thrown a week 18 bone
2 – BALTIMORE over Cleveland - The Ravens win the division…but I don’t see them doing much in the playoffs…maybe not even winning a game
1 – Cincinnati over PITTSBURGH – The Steelers haven’t been able to win when they’ve had something on the line – why would they win when the division will be out of reach?
