This week, we tackle the topic of illegal file sharing - basically online piracy. We've both got an interesting perspective on this, having grown up when this was a booming underground hobby. We discuss how file sharing has changed with technology over the years, from BBS's to cd burners to bit torrent.
We also have a big discussion about how we view this all in terms of it being stealing. There's lots of points of view on this subject, and we try to dig into all parts of it. We also discuss legal alternatives, both ones for pay and for free.
We check in for another installment of the Retrospectical Podcast and deliver you a guide to cutting the cord. We're joined by drinkfive.com contributor Mike Mocerino (pronoinced Moss-er-ino) as we dive into the world of cable alternatives. We take a look at the biggies: Netflix and Hulu, but also examine Amazon Prime, Sling TV, HBO Now and the various streaming sports packages available.
We were lucky enough to enjoy a few rare beers, like the Jai Alai White Oak IPA from Cigar City, straight from Florida. We also had some local flavor in the form of Emmet's Double Talk Double IPA.
We finished up our conversation by discussing the hardware you need to cut the cord, like a Roku, Amazon Fire Stick or Google Chromecast. I think that we all acknowledge the draw of saving money by cutting the cord, but we may be too hooked on our football to let go of it just yet.
Retrospectical Ep 16 - Cord Cutting Guide: Cable Alternatives
Welcome to the TV Soup podcast, home of drinkfive.com’s television review series. In this episode we open up a new chapter after wrapping up AMC's Better Call Saul and turn to the recently released Netflix series, Daredevil. We'll be going at it 2 episodes at a time (since binge watching is really the Netflix way), so please join us as we travel through this newest installment in the Marvel cinematic universe.
TV Soup Podcast: Daredevil, "Into the Ring" & "Cut Man" Review
As a sidenote, Jason and I have watched the majority of TV shows and movies set in the Marvel universe but we're not at all up-to-speed on the original comic books. We're looking at this show as completely separate from the previous Daredevil movie starring Ben Affleck and will not be looking at spoilers from the comic book, or earlier adaptations. Also, a second season of Daredevil has already been ordered by Netflix. That was quick!
Editor's Note: In the podcast we mention that Drew Goddard was going to be directing Sinister Six until it was shelved for a new Spiderman title. That's correct, but Sinister Six is based around a collection of supervillains from Spiderman, not Superman as I mentioned incorrectly.
Welcome to the TV Soup podcast, home of drinkfive.com’s television review series. In this episode we continue our discussion of Netflix's Daredevil with episodes 5 & 6, "World on Fire" and "Condemned". The Marvel Cinematic Universe has never felt darker and more violent than in this Netflix series, and we love it! Congrats, Netflix - certainly looking forward to the other Marvel properties that they are developing.
TV Soup Podcast: Daredevil, "World on Fire" & "Condemned" Review
Just as a reminder, we're going through this series 2 episodes at a time so there are only a few weeks left before we move on to something else. We would highly recommend that you watch Daredevil in a similar fashion, since the whole thing plays out more like a movie than a TV series. Although there are a few gaffs that always come with a show based on a comic book, Daredevil has been put together pretty flawlessly in our professional opinions and we're looking forward to breaking down the rest of the episodes in the series leading up to the finale.

For Fantasy Football team managers, playing in week 15 is all about making the right starts to get to the championship. Whether you fought hard to get into the playoffs from the bottom of the league or coasted into a bye spot early on, everyone is on an even playing field and (in most cases) only has one shot.
We'll be paying special attention to the players that you should and shouldn't start in week 15 and what matchups to keep in mind should you make the championship game in Week 16. We're joined by regular guest and drinkfive.com contributor Mike Mocerino.
Welcome back! We're joined this week by fantasy football veteran Matt Ellis to discuss the best starts moving forward into Week 13. This is the last week of the regular season of most fantasy football leagues, so put your best foot forward!
