Retrospectical Ep 16 - Cord Cutting Guide: Cable Alternatives

Written by
Published in Retrospectical Podcast

We check in for another installment of the Retrospectical Podcast and deliver you a guide to cutting the cord. We're joined by drinkfive.com contributor Mike Mocerino (pronoinced Moss-er-ino) as we dive into the world of cable alternatives. We take a look at the biggies: Netflix and Hulu, but also examine Amazon Prime, Sling TV, HBO Now and the various streaming sports packages available.

We were lucky enough to enjoy a few rare beers, like the Jai Alai White Oak IPA from Cigar City, straight from Florida. We also had some local flavor in the form of Emmet's Double Talk Double IPA.

We finished up our conversation by discussing the hardware you need to cut the cord, like a Roku, Amazon Fire Stick or Google Chromecast. I think that we all acknowledge the draw of saving money by cutting the cord, but we may be too hooked on our football to let go of it just yet.
