Pretty much everybody survived last week albeit some by the skin of their teeth. Detroit's overall stink managed to overpower Minnesota's clutch kicking stink to prevent a massive 209 player elimination. Baltimore and the Patriots also made late comebacks in games they were favorites. It seems I wasn't the only one afraid to pick the Titans, with only 22 picking them in a game they won handily against the Jags.
I struggled mightily this week in making my selection. Do I pick a bad team that is playing good? Or the really good team that is playing bad? The last few weeks I've been hearing Washington's defense is garbage and forget the pre-season hype they received. We all know that the Chiefs defense is trash, so Mahomes should be able to beat Heineke in a shootout. But, stranger things have happened and the Chiefs haven't looked good all season, so I will be fading this match-up on the road.
I will be doing this in favor or the Indianapolis Colts at home taking on the Houston Texans. With Daniel Jones being cleared to play, the Colts overtook the Rams as the biggest favorite of the week currently at -10. If you followed my pick last week in the Patriots, you already love the Texans for being the worst coached team in the league and gifting us a miracle survival. The Colts almost pulled off a nice upset Monday night against the Ravens and desperately need a win this week to make up a game on the Titans. Carson Wentz may not be able to beat the upper echelon teams, but fortunately that list does not include Houston.

Last week went down just like it's supposed to. The Colts scored a touchdown in the first quarter, which would have been enough to beat the Texans. But, they decided to put up a bunch more on their way to a 31-3 shellacking. If you went with me, and the majority, you were sipping champagne by halftime!
Gonna keep it short and sweet this week. The Arizona Cardinals are the pick against our familiar opponent, the Houston Texans. Starting to notice a theme in my picks the last 3 weeks. Not much to explain here. The Cardinals are yet to lose and are favored by more than 2 touchdowns in this game at home. This also is the best spot for the Cardinals as I look through the remainder of their schedule, but I guess you could say that about most teams on their Texans week. So this week just sit back and relax, tougher weeks are down the road.

The last two weeks have gone just how I like it. My picks have won in blowout fashion and given me supreme confidence in my picking abilities. After the first quarter Houston was ahead 2-0 and I had to double take that I wasn't seeing the MLB playoff scores, but then Arizona scored 17 in the 2nd and never looked back.
This week's pick should be another slam dunk. I was considering a few different teams I like this week but when I heard the Jets were trading for Joe Flacco, I knew my choice was made. The Cincinnati Bengals will wipe the floor with Jets starting QB Mike White. Maybe there could be a slight let down after the beating Cincinnati put on the Ravens last week, but the talent gap is too large to lose to a guy getting his first start. Burrow and Chase have been probably the most exciting WR/QB duo going this season. I expect an easy Bengals win and cover of the 10.5 point spread and seeing that I am writing this from fabulous Las Vegas, I will be putting my money where my mouth is.

Welcome back to another season of NFL survivor pool extravaganza! Week one always seems to be one of the toughest to make picks, soo many question marks, and teams no longer show anything in the pre-season to help you get a feel for what is to come. I was already shocked on Thursday night when the Bills Schalacked the Rams at their ring ceremony. Not surprised they won, but the margin was insane, and holding LA to 10 points with 7 sacks, Wow!
However, there is one thing I am certain of in this first week of the season. Russel Wilson and the Denver Broncos will not lose on Monday night to his former team up in Seattle. It's pretty simple. Russ will be highly motivated and the Seahawks are one of the teams pegged to be drafting at the top of the draft next year. Denver's defense will shut down the Hawks and won't need to put up much on offense.
My second pick would be either the Baltimore Ravens over the Jets or the Titans at home vs the Giants. After some back and forth I went with the Titans simply because it was a home game and I wanted to use them up early on and save the Ravens for later.
